Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. What is the advantages of a trp over the RO? Or what makes the trp superior?
  2. Sorry guys I should have clarified what I intended to do with pistol. I want to get into 3 gun competitions and am looking for a solid training base to use. Right now the discount on the RO is 571.xx and the champ lightweight is 621.xx. Another concern I had is where it is made. I've tried researching which 1911s Springfield manufactures here in the states but I can't seem to find a definitive answer
  3. Hey all I am lucky enough to get the SA ProStaff discount through my employer(lewis machine and tool) I think I have it narrowed down to two. 1911 9mm RO or the champion lightweight 4" operator. Open to other suggestions as well but would like to stay under 1k.
  4. I'm looking at a Jpoint 4moa for a SA mc operator. Which size of reticle do you recommend and brand of sight do you use?
  5. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience of the slk8 platform. It is fairly new but I guess my real question would be is the barrel going to make a large enough difference to warrant the price difference. The two barrels in question then would be a 16" ultra match stainless steel 1:7.5" twist 5r cut rifles barrel or 16" chrome lined 1:7" twist. Then there is also the question if I decide to stray away from the ultra match barrel I have caliber options of 5.56, 6.8, .300 blackout, and .204 ruger. My head is spinning with all the choices. If I could get some guidance on what the essentials are then I can filter out the irrelevant option. Thank you guys for taking the time to improve the sport.
  6. Hello all, Well for starters my name is Justin, I hail from the quad cities area in Illinois. I have archery hunting and league shooting experience as well as the usual outdoorsman type shotguns and hunting rifles. I currently work at LMT in the quality department and this is where my drive in interest for the 3 gun competitions came from. I find myself in a very fortune position to get started in this type of sport. I'll be looking forward to researching and discussing which LMT rifle to buy, and also which Springfield armory pistol. As with the shotgun I have a few ideas. The reason I'll be choosing a LMT rifle is simply for the fact that I can one for below dealer cost. The pistol the same way through our friend if the industry discount. Cheers and I look forward to starting this journey.
