So?? The Vertec does. Tell you what, you ladies worry about it.

So, it isn’t a 92G. It isn’t on the production list, not USPSA Production legal until it makes the list.

Why are you so aggressive and why are you giving bunk advice?

I *FULLY* agree with your assessment.

I just traded two HK pistols for three CZs - two P-07s and one P-09 to add to my CGW P-07.

They all need stippling and they all could benefit greatly from CZ Custom or CGW internals.

Other than that I love them.

The guts are easy enough, either do it yourself or pay Cajun to do it.

The Grip is a no-go. You can't modify the polymer frame in Production, IDPA, or GSSF. Every piece of grip tape I ever used peeled off .

I just can't use a slick grip gun to the best of my ability.

  3. I like the P-09 as a range gun. But when the sweat, sunblock and skeeter dope mix, the grip slips around in my hand.

If CZ (and every other polymer gun I've ever seen) was wise, they would put aggressive checkering where the weak hand has to control the grip with friction. Usually that is high on the grip, right where they make it slick.

Do people who actually shoot bullets test these things at all????

Sooooooo...... are we more worried about how the gun looks now or how it shoots? I think we're all willing to look past the "flashy" curves Tanfo tried to throw at it if the gun shoots as good as their other models. End of the day it gives Tanfo guys a gun to get back into IDPA with......

Looks are for girls and puppies.

How it functions matters, with no grip checkering on the panels or the frame, that is a no go when compared to the already IDPA legal Lim Pro.

They took away things that mattered in favor of things that don't matter.

  5. So close yet so far away.

    The good...

    IDPA legal

    Small thumb safety

    The bad...

Dang useless grips, add $100 to the price to get something that actually has grip on it.

Proto finger groove- why? People universally hate those. Glock just 86'd them and now you add them, jeez.

No frame checkering. People already didn't buy the original Stock (1) because it didn't have the preferable checkering of the Stock 2.

And the rear cocking serrations, designed by a Disney Imagineer, so weird that I would have to feel it to determine if it is functional.

Undoubtedly will be priced similarly to the Lim Pro, which will be preferable in about every way.

    The indifferent...

Let's make a gamer gun aimed at the IDPA, then put a rail on it, which you can't use in IDPA. Wha...

Let's make this custom rear sight with all kinds of artsy contours, instead of just going with something standard. At least it looks like an LPA will drift on.

What did they actually put on the backstrap, that looks strange and unhelpful.

    I'd be a buyer if....

    The grips were functional

The frame was more like a Stock 2 or 3

The cocking serrations were not so weird

So basically, all of the artsy fartsy things they did are preventing me form making this purchase

  6. Once I put a little skateboard tape on the grip (what are firearm companies thinking, putting slick areas on grips???) my P09 was shooting neck and neck with my Stock 2.

    I'm Impressed.

  7. 1) Not many. If you compromise the pistol because you are being unreasonable ( trying for a silly light trigger) you may not light everything.

    2) You need enough support to get parts, mags and holsters. A decent gunsmith (or a reasonably competent user) can do all of the work on the gun.

    3) Don't let people manipulate you. If you want a 2011, go get it. If not, get what you like.

That is not how my manual reads, on page 20, to have the locator tab adjusted.

Looking at the instructions for the first time in a long time, I am immediately reminded of the horribleness of it. 3 column walls of text, pics that show nothing, laid out in a difficult to find manner, etc...

It needs more play than that in real life. Maybe with new brass that is all in spec, that would be ok, but with fired brass, you need more play than that.

Business card width, take it to the bank.

The manual is insufficient, the guy trying to build a better press is advised.

    Moving on

  9. I started reloading on a single stage press (Lyman) at about age 13. Loaded thousands on that. I loaded 10's of thousands on a 550. And there is nothing about either of those experiences that says to set that part to a business card's width from the case. I do all of my own car repairs, house repairs and build my own fences.

If you need to be more qualified than me to run a 1050, then they shouldn't sell them.

I am loading 10's of thousands on a 1050 w/mk7 currently. Setting the white dealio all the way against the case WILL pop primers. There is no intuitive" anyone else would have known" element to it. The opposite is true, intuition would say. " secure the case as much as possible" and put the white dealio all the way up to the case.

If you haven't seen a pic of a blown primer tube, you are still a noob.

So when I say "the instructions suck" it is not a flip statement, it is not an outsider's opinion, it is a user's educated experience.

Can you name another progressive press that comes with a more detailed manual than the SD, 550, 650 or 1050?  If you can't read they even have a DVD.

Everyone else sucking is no excuse for sucking.

The dvds suck too, they just suck less and cost more.

A lot of detail is not the same as guiding the users to successful usage.

    I'll give you an example;

Station 3, if you don't set the white plastic dealio properly then the primer might not seat successfully, might pop the primer and might blow the freaking press up. the proper way to set it is to put a business card between the shell and the white dealio. Does it say peep about that in the instructions.... no.

  11. It would need to be compatible with an auto drive.

    i suggest contacting Mark 7.

i suggest reading Steve Jobs biography, try to learn his "user experience oriented, great products" ethic.

Learn from Dillon, their products could be great, but they aren't. They are only decent, and here is why...

    pot metal

primers go everywhere (user experience) it drives me nuts that i fixed their priming system with a 223 case and $2 worth of tubing.

you need aftermarket parts to make it run right

    instructions are horrible

bullet bin slides off the bracket (this is a symptom of the attitude "we know it sucks, but we aren't going to make it right")

    i could go on and on, but the problems with Dillon can all be boiled down to 2 things;

They don't care about making the product great (cheap materials, unwilling to redesign problem areas, stopped innovating)

They don't care about the user experience

    Dont be like Dillon.

    Good luck

46 euros for a safety is steep.

On the other hand, G10 grips for 56 euros I would get few :)

US companies are going to be late to market. Once you can get them straight from Tanfo, we won't need LOK or LavaRock.

Considering that all of our other good shooting, close fitting pistols ran in the $400 range (including 2 Witness 45's) and after postage it is nearly $900, yes, this is a high dollar pistol for us. It is all relative I guess.

High dollar for you, that is your call.

High dollar for the firearms industry, not at all.
