  1. No trouble contacting them at all. The office manager, Melinda is really nice and helpful. Bobby gave me a call to confirm a few things during installation as well. No problems to report from me. http://www.apwcogan.com/site-directory.html
  2. The rear cocking serrations were done by the STI factory. Its the standard for 2013 STI Duty Ones.
  3. I just got my STI Duty One back from APW. I think it looks amazing! Here is what I had done: 1. Hard Chrome with brushed flats 2. Carry Bevel 3. Trigger job with EGW Ignition components and Koenig hammer 2.5# 4. S&A Magwell blended and installed 5. Dawson FO front sight installed. I am super happy with the results. Enjoy the pictures.
  4. If you just want a HC edge, I would just go ahead and get an executive. Similar cost. Apeiro is a beautiful gun but I'm not certain it is worth the extra money for me. Keep in mind for a couple hundred more than an Apeiro you could have Akai or Freedom Gunworks build you a limited gun. I am sending a private message with some good deals in it.
  5. Hmm.. Doesn't appear to be any rules against it. If so, I'll remove and take it to private message. I would buy from Oak Hill Guns. Free shipping and lowest prices I've seen anywhere on new STI guns. Same day shipping every time I've purchased something from him. It typically arrives at my FFL in one day. The prices aren't disclosed on the website due to the discount. You'll have to check out to see them. He doesn't have a HC edge but he does have a .40 and a .9mm. What I was saying is, you can send it off to APW (or Metaloy if you prefer) and have it hard chromed for 225.00. That still puts you a bit below 2000.00 for a HC edge. Not a bad deal in my opinion. Edit** I just checked myself and it appears the edge is more expensive now. It might have adjusted due to 2014 price changes or I might have been mistaken. =(. So it won't be under 2000. My bad.
  6. You looking for .40? I'll PM you. Not sure about the rules for posting a link to a dealer.
  7. Cerakote is a spray on coat. There are two types as far as I know. The heat treated and the non-heat treated. The heat treated version is more durable. It specifies which type it is on the label and on their site. It's very durable for a spray on finish. One great thing about Cerakote is, because it is a spray on finish, it can hide imperfections in the frame/slide. If you have any when Ionbond/DLC finish a gun, you'll be living with them. Unlike Ionbond/DLC/TiN/PVD/hard chrome finishes, the Cerakote will make the gun tighter due to the thickness of the finish as I think someone previously stated. If you do the rails, it may be difficult to fit the slide to frame until the coat wears off.
  8. I don't have experience with them but when I was looking that seemed to be the only additional features. It may have more attention to detail on the trigger but I don't know that for a fact. In my opinion, the Edge and Eagle are the best value in the STI 2011 line up because the features on the other higher end guns appear to be mostly cosmetic. Not saying they aren't pretty though. =) However, I can have an Edge hard chromed and still be under 2,000.00. The Legend, Executive, and Apeiro, while beautiful guns, are approaching the price range of hand built full custom limited guns and this a big deterrent for me.
