  1. la-la-la.

me still happy be alive to experience that :)

I first didn't like 10,000 days but how the heck it grew on me this much. I started to listen to almost every day..... then I get to go to concert last week.

I had expeirenced that much of pure, powerful artistic energy to the point energy become the matter, only once before.... sitting in front of Picasso's Guernica in Museum in Madrid. You know, you feel it choking you, pushing you, trying to take you apart, questioning you and reaching you so deep to

    liquidify who you are.

  2. WHat?!! I used to hate (gosh, running all winter long was torture) PE but there's no PE at SCHOOL????! Insane!

Krav Maga rules. Great choice Trisha.

 Ok here is what I really hate! My youngest is in 7th grade and there is NO Physical Ed this year!!!! Good thing he is signed up at the same Krav Maga center that I go to otherwise he wouldn't be getting any exercise during the day....what is the deal????? 12 and no PE???? I can remember having to take it through my freshman year of high school. No wonder we have so many fat kids these days. :(
  3. xd9shtr has joined recently and had this question. My XD never had this kind of mulfunction and wondering if anyone can help???

    -------------------------------------------

have had my xd for about 6 mos now and no problems until the match saturday (of course). On my last stage my gun had a complete meltdown. Slide locked back, rounds still in the magazine and what appeared to be a live round in the barrel. Magazine would not drop -- I had to forceably strip the magazine from the gun and then rack the slide three or four times. Upon racking I threw a live round AND an empty shell (??). Gun was clean, no problems with any of the magazines, but at practice yesterday the same thing happened a couple of times. I am thinking my ejector is not working correcty, but have not heard of anyone else having this problem. Any ideas? (all the ammo I have used to this point is straight from the factory.)

  4. Hey!! Thank you! I didn't even pay attention to this thread :D Nice to get happy B Day from many of you.

Man, life goes on so fast.

Shoulder is getting better but I am not shooting yet. The heat (or more like temp differences between outdoor and indoor... it's sooo freakingly cold indoor here) in Arizona is taking a great toll on my body. Sooooo tired all the time.

I also am back in school for master's degree in oriental medicine. I can stick needle on you for your carpol tunnel wrists in 3 years. How about that!

  5. Welcome. XD is great production gun and great for small hand person..... like me. Bladetech Drop Offset holster is the way to go. As well as low-rise pants. If you have good differences between hip and waist, contured belt ( Safariland) will save you from hipbone bruises.

  6. Buhahahaha! Oh boy. :D :D

My friend got me into watching the game (and it's now Japan's most favorite sport) and started to understand this stuff. Watching Brazilian team is amazing!

  7. BritinUSA, yep. I am basically where you were when you were 10 years old. Geesh! Good for you to be able to let "someone else" take care of it. Born in secular family and society, that concept is so forign for me and herein the problem. I can't say as far as "someone else"

Goeff, maybe so. Actually, its nice to declare that is the truth. It doesn't feel like a defeat, ;)

  8. So the trick becomes learning not to allow ourselves to become trapped by thought.

I had an experience which made me totally understand this "trapped by thought" recently. I think my desire to know "why" to everything - might say 'scientific mind" ?? ;) - is so strong and I get into this binge- questioning. From "why I was born" to "why we are here to live." I'd go circles trying to think-out the answers only to loose myself in thoughts which is like ant lion's nest. Only thing I see is unescapable darkness.

One day, out of despair, I decided that I'd decide 1) life's purpose is to pursue happiness and 2)pursuing of happiness is nothing to do with finding the reason for life nor reason to live. I can not find it as the answer but instead,I'd just decide so.

This changed my perception (ain't reality=perception?) dramatically,It was a "whoa" moment. I could even feel it physically and remembered the feeling very well.

Since then, I stumble into "trapped by thought" once in a while. But amazing thing is I can feel and recognize that happening. I'd loose sense of reality. I'd loose feeling of connected-ness and appreciation. I feel alone. When that happens,I'd gently bringing myself back into my body and try to stay with the birds in the yard and my cat sleeping on my desk.

I bet this is something most of you do unconsciously or don't even have to do it to stay happy. But for me, this is a new learned skill. In a way, it's bit sad. I wanted the answer. I feel defeated to "decided" there's no answer.

  9. Brian, I was like hiting reload buttn too. Like, Oakland one got updated to "find the tickets" at 10:00. So, it was sooo confusing. Yep. By the time Arizona one got updated, it was so gone.

    Bummer :(

    I hope I have friends @ ticketmaster....

    P.S.

I will try Las Vegas too. Is sale from 12:00

  10. As LPatterson said, you can wear low-rise or extra-low-rise pants. It makes it easy for you to draw since the gun doesn't get stuck into your arm pit.

And, Safariland has "contoured" belt. Assuming you have a small waist therefore, waist-hip ratio is high, this coutured belt fits like magic.

If you wear belt dead on waist line, it doesn't have to be contured but its really worth thinking wearing bit low. Experiment which is easier to draw.

    http://www.safariland.com/products.asp?id=122

It says Duty but I do use for competition. My hip bone is free from bruises now. Inner belt is very very thin. It fits almost every pants I have.

Call up Brian and ask him nicely. He will have it special ordered for sure.

  11. oh my god! Me and Karen watching together at the Buffalo Wild Wing stood up with hands over the mouth. That was too shocking. There's noooo way! Andrei getting knocked out? In mare 2 and so minitues? Is it supposed to be the other way around????

Yeah, I got together with Karen and Karen's family watching the show. Geesh, I almost thought I couldn't see the show. I will neve let it happen.... especially for May 27th show.

BTW, Royce came on octagon to say hi and boy, he looks good or what? he looks sharp, focused, young and toned. NOW there might be really good fight. Supposedly, Staple Center's ticket started out at $1000 or so and now its $4000??? Craziness!

I think i am going to start recruiting people to watch together. I got a big TV which I can bring. All we need is a cable/DirecTV access and a big room!!

  12. This is Japanese story I was told when I was a child. I hope this is appropriate sub-category.

    --------

There's a centipedes who danced so well. When he dances, all the creature of the forrest come to watch. And there's a frog, who was envious of his fame. so he asked the centipedes.

"Mr. Centipedes, would you please tell me how you dance? Is it like you step with your 354th leg first and then the 104 leg?"

And you know, centipedes can not dance anymore.

    -----------------

Have this happen to you, in shooting or anything else?

  13. Well... its in couple of days. I guess I have to go to the Buffallo Wings again. It's more inntimidating than showing up to Dojo first time! All the amped up guys (customers) and cheerleader girls (waitress) . Me feel so small.

I better just join local BJJ club just for the sake of TV watching. Back ijury, knee injury and shoulder injury and I am no way in shape to roll. Sob sob....

    Yay! Forrest! I can't pass!!

  14. Oh my godness people, amazing wisedom here. And wsimpso1, that's funny. ;) But "teenage agressiveness" and "arousal" is dead on.

What I mean wisedom is changing one's perspective to serve the purpose, in this case, enjoy whatever we do. For some reason, I sometime feel one particular perspective such as "I ain't gonna be top of the world" is such a scientific (or whatever) truth, anything else is "fales". So, even though switching the perspective is "wisedom", I can not find the way to swich from truth to false.

Like, they always say "everybody is beatiful in thier own way" but repeatedly studies come out that symmetry is the standard of beauty across the races. So, according to this scientific truth, I ain't beautiful, even to my own eyes. How I am supposed to change perspective. (and no, I am not christian nor intelligent design believer)

Joe I met at Dust Devil craked me up, though. Upon hearing my rant about "happiness, perspective, life and everything" he said "I thought Japanese have already all figured that out!" Funny or what? ;)

  15. Did I mention sight black? Does the texture or any other part of the sight make as much difference as knowing what you are seeing with what ever is on the gun? A sight doesn't make you put one in the black.

I have FO and about to give it up... I usually use Sight Black but keeping it "just in case" match goes on and it gets really dark, like Tuesday Steel can.

But problem I found is sight black darken the FO enough, FO doesn't "shine" anymore even after I scrub and even wash with soap. And furthermore, the spray sight black is pain to use. If I spray too much, the force of spray + solvent will blow away what it is already on the FO. So, I end up keep on spraying.

I recently got an idea of using dry marker. You know, what you use on white boards. It is so much better than sight black.

But I am still kinda wanting to ditch the FO all together for next gun, for the exact reason stated here.

Anyone have same problem of FO and Sight Black???

  16. Jasmap

Since you mentioned...... I remember there's the dufflebag I carried comfoter to Dust Devil (to stay at my friend's place) which's all black. I didn't check it so I checked it now and geez, Rika, you idiot! I found my holster.

    Laugh at me!

    But still want 9mm!

  17. Some of you mentioned new Dawson sights.

I am looking for non-FO front and adjustable rear I can install myself, like Glock. The sights will be temp until Dave's sights come out.

I thought I will be shooting XD40 untill Dave's sights come out but now that I lost $90 holster, maybe just buy 9mm, shoot completely stock (except for the sights) for a while and wait for the Dave's sights.
