Those lines appear to be a result of steel cases wearing on the steel funnel. Take a magnet and check the cases you are loading for steel plated brass cases. Xtream has been selling these as brass. Not sure why they would do so but they are trouble.

That's a good idea. I separate all of my brass by headstamp but a few can easily get through and into the mix. Thank you!

It's hard to tell if it's galled or gouged but it's probably brass which has collected on the funnel. Try lightly polishing the funnel with a metal polish.

I'll give that a try and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion!

  2. Hello,

I've been using the Mr. Bullet Feeder Powder Funnel for 9mm on my 550 for a while now (30k rds) and noticed today there were little vertical lines etched into the side (Pictures below, click links for larger pictures). They seem to go into the powder funnel and not out. There are also a few lines going horizontal but I can't tell if those were there from the start or not.

These vertical lines also get etched into the brass after it gets pulled down from the powder funnel. I haven't had any issues so far with any rounds but it does seem odd and I'm contemplating ordering a new one or reaching out to see if they've seen this before.

I also have the same powder funnel in .40 and that one does not have any vertical lines although it has only been used for a few thousand rounds.

Has anyone seen this? Any  insight or help would be appreciated. I'm stopping its use for the time being.

It weird that they would use the regular CZ ring hammer instead of the custom hammer on a fully custom gun. I also wonder what benefit the P-09 mags bring to the table

Probably a ring shape but I highly doubt it's cut and functions like a factory ring hammer.

I would expect this thing to have all the bells and whistles straight out of the box

  4. No, it's all preference. Over time I've changed how I grip my gun so grip panels have changed as well.

I think you should ensure the grips allow for correct function first and then go with comfort. By function I mean do they allow your trigger finger to contact the trigger in the exact spot you want with out having to shift your hand around a lot? Off the draw, does your hand position consistently and again contact the trigger exactly like you want? Can you hit the mag release, slide release and safeties easily?

I recently changed my trigger finger placement so the trigger is in the joint area and not the pad. To accommodate this I needed a thinner grip on the right side.

If you like the current grips but want more texture, try adding jb weld and silicon carbide.

  5. Hello,

I've been messing around with my grip and have been thinking of moving away from my thin Rami safeties I currently have on my accushadows. The extended safeties that come with the gun however, are very low (as in where my thumb rests) and force my left hand grip placement to be lower than I'd like.

Does anyone have a comparison of the Shadow 1 extended safeties vs the shadow 2 extended safeties and some feedback on the height and feel between the two? A recent post showed that the new shadow orange safeties are like the shadow 2 but fit a cz75 frame.

The feel of the current new style sp01 safeties isn't bad and puts my thumb higher, but the profile is just a big hump and not a ledge.

    Any input would be appreciated!

    Thanks

  6. I sort though all of my brass and have been chucking the xtreme and perfecta brass as I recall there being some issue with it. I've been searching the net for the article where people had issues with it but can't seem to find it.

Anyone have any issues with reloading this brass? I use a dillon 550 right now.

    Thanks for the help!

  7. Bought a ton of Prima SV when Prima V was hard to come by. Actually prefer it since I can use it in 9mm and .40.

Here is my  9mm load data with Prima SV:

    Dillon 550

    Blue Bullet 147FP

    OAL 1.14"

    3.2gr (looked to be throwing +/- .06)

Average of 20 shots out of a CZ Accushadow

    Ave: 905

    SD: 7.3

    PF: 133.035

That’s a reasonable expectation with CCI and 11# mainspring. Try loading primers deeper and going 12# mainspring or up to 13#.

Thanks Stuart! I'll try the czc 13lb spring and swe how it goes.

  9. Has anyone had issues with light strikes? I had quite a few using CCI primers and a 11.5lb main spring on my accushadow 1. This was with the CZC kit and not the CGW. I swapped everything back for reliability but have some down time between my next big match and want to mess around with it again.

Any differences between the CZC and CGW kits?

Options would be federal primers or maybe a 13lb mainspring if I really wanted the reach kit.

Supply and demand. Bump the prices up just enough to keep a steady stream of customers without too much of a backlog. Leica rangefinder cameras do the same thing, $6K cameras without any lenses. They probably could get the price up to $2,995.00 without losing any revenue stream. In reality people that would want the machines, which is a one time cost, pay much more in consumables than the price of the machine. If they indeed are better than the 1050 then I am sure a few hundred dollars is not going to dissuade those that are tired of keep tweaking the Dillon 1050s.

Yeah I definitely agree. Interesting that the price would go up without actually selling any or having any be used yet. (Full frame camera and a few good lenses doesn't make a $3k press seem that expensive anymore hahah)

  11. Anyone still having a hard time keeping consistent throws over longer runs? I find with prima V I have to check a powder drop every 100 or so just in case.

From throw to throw it's pretty consistent but over say 500 rounds if I don't check, I can see a change of .4gr.

I do also see very low SD when I chrono but those rounds aren't spread over a long run.

Also adding some of my own data I put in a different thread:

Tried 3.2 of prima SV at 1.14 with blue bullets 147gr FP out of CZ SP01 Accushadow.

20 shot avg was 905 with std dev of 7.3.

  12. Are they both the factory mags?

The mag on the left looks like a cz mag to me and not a mecgar. If they came with you're friends sp01 then they're probably CZ.

I think shadow2 is the first to come with mecgar from the factory?

(Also I've only bought aftermarket mecgar so if they are now different I won't have a good comparison since I dont have a shadow 2)

  13. Just the price included dies before, but now you get no dies and 10% price increase?

Seems crappy that this is how things progressed.

However for what you get, if the original price was initially released as 2750 with no dies, I don't think you would lose many people's interest in this press. I still have high hopes and eagerly waiting some user reviews and feedback.

  14. I was looking at the Mark 7 website and it looks like as of April 16 they do not include any dies and the price is now $2750? Double Alpha website still shows the price at $2500 with dies.

Is the high Mark 7 price just pushing us to not buy directly from them or are we going to see that price filter down to retailers?

If it's 2750 plus now I have to buy all of my own dies, makes it a bit tougher choice to not got with a 1050. (It might be better to just choose your own dies from the start anyway but to get a price increase instead of decrease kind of sucks)

    Thoughts?

  15. Just wanted to add in my own data on this thread.

Tried 3.2 of prima SV at 1.14 with blue bullets 147gr FP out of CZ SP01 Accushadow.

20 shot avg was 905 with std dev of 7.3.

Will be my main practice powder once I finish the few pounds of Prima V left.

It is a bit of a compressed load so I'm a little concerned if I try to make loads of my normal 147 Zero JHPs. If I try it I'll repost.

Also nice that the prima SV is solid for my .40 loads. Not sure if prima V works well for .40.

  16. My indoor range here in CA doesn't allow for holsters or shooting more than 1 second per shot. Sucks.

I do a lot of bench starts and strong hand and weak hand only.

One drill I like is a transition drill where you aim off target, then snap your eyes to the target and transition to what ever your shooting at. 2 inch dot at 7 yards or 3 inch at 15 yards really forces that visual patience.

I have them on my SP-01 Accushadow and My Tactical Sport. I've had the CZC grips and multiple CZ grips including the "lemon grinders" - these are so much better than any other CZ grip I've tried. Yes, more expensive, but worth it to me. 76b9ffee376311dc0302dbc5136fae98.jpg

Do you know what the width of these are on your accushadow? I've been trying to find more pictures of the grips on a shadow 1 since they seem to have been designed first for a shadow 2.

Looking at the back portion of the grip and how it lines up with the back of the frame, does it feel off havinf them hang back off the frame edge? On the S2 you'd have the raised checkered part but on the s1 it's recessed.

    Thanks for any input!
