Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I've found the same results. These Remingtons shoot quite well, as do Montana Gold .355s.
  2. I'm relatively new to the forum now (I was a member about 7 or 8 years ago!), and I saw something a while ago about the .38 Super Remington 130 grain RN FMJ bullets being undersized. I thought I'd post what I found, as I don't recall any solution or further discussion on it. I happen to have a box of 1,000 of them right now - they're advertised as .356" from Midway. Mine measure on average about .3545" or so. I dug around until I found a customer service email address at Remington and fired off a question to them asking why their bullets that are advertised to be .356", are actually somewhere closer to .354". It took them 3 weeks to send this response: "Tolerance for the 38 Super 130 gr. Bullet. .3548 to .3553 38 Super should not measure .356" That was the full text of the answer I got. I just thought you guys loading for .38 Super would find that curious, as I do. I've not heard those tolerances before. Roger
  3. For pistol, I'm close to the Norpoint indoor range near Arlington, and for rifle I make the trek to Whatcom County, just south of Bellingham - the Plantation Range. Gorgeous place to shoot! For rimfire, I like to shoot at home, as I live in un-incorporated Snohomish County and can shoot here. I've got a 50 yard range set up that I use for testing purposes or whatever. Basically, I shoot wherever I can!
  4. Hello, everyone! Glad to be here and to hopefully pick up some knowledge! I'm not a competitor, although I've been a hand loader for roughly 45 years, and my daily carry is a 4" .38 Super. I try to shoot weekly, be it pistol or rifle. Perhaps I'll have something to pass to people in the reloading section, but I'd guess I'll learn more good stuff than I can impart! Looking forward to it! Roger Life Member since '75, NRA USN, Retired
