  1. Congrats. I'm also new to the PCC game. I settled on a Nordic Components complete rifle since all the part to build on to my several other pistols wasn't an option. I'm really stoked with it so far. But if I was to do it over again, I coul have saved a bunch on just a barrel and stock. I am running same main optic with great success and a Firefield secondary optic at 2 o'clock position. Enjoy the ride, I know I am.

  2. Thanks again. I got my old acct reinstated. The ”35" had to do with my first limited/limited 10 gun. But soon moved up to an STI Edge. Then a custom 6" STI built out by Cheely in the picture. Then of course an STI Trojan in .40 for SS.

  3. Thanks all. Ya spell check did me wrong on PCC thing. I got divorced and sole custody of my 3 kids. With primers unavailable and the cost of everything else, not to mention the kiddos, it was time to hang it up. I was doing videos b4 it was cool and made cameras on the hat the thing to do! 🤣

  4. Thanks guys, I figured as much. I just needed some validation. ;)

On another note, will a .265 tall (.100) be the best front sight height in your opinion as well?

that would depend on what rear sight you are going with. If you are sticking with the factory the notch is 0.140, which I think a 0.100 would be too narrow in. I like a 0.115 front for 0.140 rears. If you are going to use the dawson rear, their notch is significantly narrower so the 0.100 may be ok but most seem to prefer the 0.090.

the height will be determined by the rear sight as well as your load.

I will be going with a Dawson rear sight, and prefer the narrowest blade I can get. I don't want the rear sight cranked way in the air, so I would image the taller front sight will be best...

I have a .100" Dawson FO front sight on mine and it was fine with the factory rear and the Warren Tactical I have on it now.

If nobody around there has one, I can loan you my M&P sight pusher (MGW). Unfortunately, it won't do the front on the Pro/9L and I had to cut the last one out it was so tight! R,

Thanks Chris, but I think I will just send the sights in with the gun when I have the trigger and stippling done. ;)

  6. I will be getting an M&P Pro very soon and considering whether I will need an adjustable rear sight or not. This gun will be used primarily for competition, using 147gr lead/moly bullets.

Your advice and thoughts are greatly appreciated as I have very limited experience with M&Ps.

    Thanks.

  7. Good Afternoon,

Just curious if anyone knows if S&W makes an air soft gun like the M&P? Or any suggestion on a good air soft gun to practice in the good ol winter months. I would appreciate your time and helo.

    Here is one option.

You can get that same gun at Big 5 for $10 less. I have yet to see an Airsoft "blowback" version of this gun, but remain optomistic that someone with come out with one soon. As I see Production Division as my future "home" and looking for a suitable training gun as well. ;)

  8. Some clarification would be helpful but this is what I found with policy and procedures.

    - All scoring for an individual string of fire ceases when the stop plate is hit.

    - All misses (primary targets left un-hit once the stop plate has been struck) will be scored

    with a three-second penalty each.

Sounds like to me that you own any and all missed targets as soon as you hit the stop plate the first time.

The more I think about it the more I agree with backing the timer up to the stop plate time, but it might be a good idea to address this in the rules for consistency. The more black/white it is the better.

That was taken from the Policies and Procedures manual on the SCSA website. ;)

  9. How about on a Glock 17 Airsoft? I've known how to detail strip a Glock for a long, long time  but haven't gotten around yet to learning to detail strip the Airsoft. Does a Glock Airsoft even have a sear spring?

    Oh....

  10. Jason, I recall ya asking me to awhile back and been pretty busy. But things are getting quieter around here now.

I'll start working on something. I know Micah has done some dryfire videos and there is a link here somewhere...

  11. Any way to make the trigger pulls heavier, say 5.5 pounds?

In my experience model box stock guns come with a 4#+ trigger. So adding a little weight would probably be a matter of simply increasing sear spring tension.

  13. I have on all my GBB guns. I even have made a video showing how I do it. I don't have the video link handy. But its on my YouTube page in the training video section. I'm able to smooth out and lighten my triggers down to under 2lbs consistent pull weight.

  14. I haven't had a chance to set it up. After setting up the Ohio and Ipsc match, shooting, switching the stages, shooting then tearing down I decided to take a break from the gun. I'll probably just wait until next month to shoot but who knows. I still have a couple of weeks.

For next month I was planning on trying to post a couple stages. I'm going to try and make one more freestyle to allow some more freedom.

Just a thought, but most people are limited with steel and able to work with more paper. I know steel is fun, but if they don't have the steel targets there will be less participation. Although you could use paper "steel"....just rambling I guess
