Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I just started reloading and I'm aware that a chrono is essential for getting the PF that you need and also double checking that a load isn't too hot (before a bad load blows up your gun). My question is WHERE do you guys usually run your chrono? Do most of you shoot outdoors or indoors? And if you chrono outdoors, is it at a outdoor range or just "in the woods"? Thanks for any and all replies in advance!
  2. I'm just starting to reload and I will be starting with a single stage press reloading 9mm. I chose Accurate #5 because I think it would be impossible to double charge without the powder spilling or the bullet not seating. (Also because it was available at my local gun store.) My question is related to the bullets that I purchased. I bought 1000 rounds of Montana Gold 124 gr CMJ, due to availability. Unfortunately I cannot find any load data for using Accurate #5 with 124 gr CMJ bullets. I have read that some people say to substitute with 124 gr FMJ load data, but if I do that should the OAL be slightly longer or shorter due to the CMJ characteristics? Since this will probably be my very first reload I would rather not go off the books right out of the gate. Any suggestions or personal experiences with 124 gr CMJ reloading would be greatly appreciated. Just as an aside, I also have these other powders: Clays TiteGroup WST And the local gun store has these powders (last I checked): Accurate #2 Accurate #9 Solo 1000 Alliant Bullseye
  3. I've been shooting for a couple of years now, but I'm just now starting to reload. Could use some guidance from the Enos family!
