  1. I just started out with a new 22lr conversion on my Elite Limited large frame.   I noticed that I had to remove the magwell to get the mags to fit.  Has anyone out there trimmed the baseplate to fit with a magwell?  I'm getting intermittent light strikes, and I am using the factory limited hammer spring.  This seems to happen a lot with Winchester ammo.   The extractor also does not seem to grab well enough.  When I try to clear a live round from a light strike the extractor is almost always not able to pull it out.  It seems to not have any problem in pulling out fired casings, but i'm sure that it is just barely grabbing on to the rims.  The slide has a very noticeable drag for the last 1/3 of slide travel, so it looks like I'll need to do some polishing.

  2. I run the Henning 10.75, which works reliably for me for both major and minor loads.

I have several of the taylor freelance extended basepads. They are not as nice as the Henning pads. If you want less hassle, I would go with Henning. The locking screw on the TF has to be backed out several turns or else it will hit the factory magwell and not seat.

  3. Hmmm... I'm sure there are 1000's of ways to sneak or mail in power and primers from the US. You could break down a press into individual parts and mail them in unrecognizable groups. How about a Folgers coffee can filled with Clays? Or a t-shirt bedazzled with primers.

It seems to be almost universal in Latin America, that ammo "manufacturing" is forbidden.

  4. I'm using the safariland 014. I haven't tried any other race holster, so I don't have any comparisons. I do feel like the safariland holds my elite limited securely. My biggest concern/distraction that would drive me crazy is the feeling that my pistol could easily fall out of the holster. The one drawback for the 014, is that it only adjusts down to a 5" barrel, so the limited elite does not fit down flush on the muzzle holder. You have to cut one of the side adjustment legs to get it to adjust down properly.

  5. pfcchambers, thanks for your info about selecting the long trigger. I have been struggling to decide, since the standard trigger seems slightly short to me. I also wear a large glove, and was hesitating in ordering the long henning trigger thinking that it might be too long for me. My hands are about the same as yours, and my personal preference is for a longer trigger.
