  1. I think front sight post is what is keeping me from advancing. Most of my great classifieds are close targets and I am getting average - low on anything 30 yards or greater. It sucks being in Hawaii and not able to practice but hopefully I will pick it back up. Again we need to get out and practice.

As for steel challenge setup help you can make me get out there anytime I am in town. If you want to pick up my midget and take him with, please feel free too.

  3. I setup a new 550 this weekend and one of the things I noticed is mine tends to creep up in charge weight. I was loading 3.5g of e3 and would periodically check weights. Several times it would through 3.5 as expected but sometimes I'd see a 3.7 in there. When that happened I'd adjust the powder drop and continue. I wonder if you were experiencing the same sort of thing with yours? I've only used mine with e3 so far.

If you mean creep up over the course of the session then I suggest you consider the uniquetek micrometer powder drop. Sure it is REALLY a neat tool if you load multiple loads but what I found is it is so tight when adjusting that it stays put throughout even the longest loading sessions.

+1 on the Uniquetek micrometer. Best investment on my SDB yet.

  4. Being a new shooter the "Race to X" gives me another goal and competition. It isnt about gaming out classifiers but more about another level of competition within the USPSA realm. I have fun and find it picks me up when I have a group of guys backing me when I post a good score or when I have them pick me back up when I post a crap one.

  5. Thanks for the input. Should give a good starting point for those. CFE pistol is giving me headaches though as I haven't figured out if it was just not measuring well or not.

  6. All strings were 10 rounds. I only listed the first 5 to save some editing that would have to be done to make it readable. All were recorded using Chronograph Log - http://on-core.com/chronographlog on an Iphone and Temp was sitting around 85 when we were shooting.

Looking over my loads I can see all of them I need to bump up .1-.2 grains except the Titegroup load which was right on time. It also looks like my N320 load needs to bump at least .3 grains to reach Major PF with these bullets.

  12. I think we need to get out and start practicing. I think the only way any of us get better is to put rounds down range. After reading your posts you didnt mention the loads you are using to reference the goods with the bads and that might help out also. A load might feel good but not be as accurate as you think (accounting for the mikes) and could be costing you some quality hits and or speed. I am looking forward to practicing with you , AJ and George soon.
