  1. thanks DVC! just FYI the square trigger guard is original not welded. came from a norinco np27. waited 4 years for a frame like this.. now I know STI has one with a squared trigger guard. but the price here in the Philippines is just too much. runs about 650$ for the bare frame..

  2. new gun to start a new year. 38 super singlestack just finished 1/2/15.

norinco commander frame, STI slide, Wilson barrel.EB wedge MSH..parkerized finish.

commander frame rails and dust cover (you can see the build up) are shorter in effect this gun is somewhat one of those "Stroked" pistols. always wanted to try one. ill be breaking this in soon.

  3. for some its for personal satisfaction having a schuemann, barsto, etc.. installed..for some it makes them "shoot better" and for some only the best will do (should have gone the custom route though). I was like that when I was new to the sport. just had to have a barsto installed in my gun which had no accuracy problems.it was installed by bubba and runined the guns timing and perfect fit.. later on I realized barrels nowadays are well made.I once had a norinco. after a bit of tuning and hard fitting a bushing it shot 1 hole groups at 20m with the stock barrel..shot thousands of rounds never lost accuracy I later regretted selling it. I wanted to buy the gun back but adding insult to injury the new owner refused and thanked me for having the gun built the way it is.anyway back to the topic, if I had an sti id only change the barrel if I was to be competing with the top 10 GMs. STI barreled guns I have handled are very accurate..

  4. Thanks. I just checked the magazine now after dry firing about a hundred times. The trigger bow has clearly left a mark at the front of the magazine. The mark is full contact, a perfect pair of 2 horizontal lines across the front of the magazine. I think i got a lemon trigger.... previous trigger worked fine.

  6. Good day gents. I installed by myself an sti trigger in my 2011. Heres the deal.

I loaded the mag, racked the slide, and pulled the trigger. Hammer drops no bang. Cocked hammer and fired still no bang.did it a dozen times. So i tried manually cocking the hammer while trigger is pressed and i found out the sear is contacting the hammer as the hammer falls. Bumps on the hammer hooks then the half cock notch. very puzzling. But when i removed my magazine, hammer falls smoothly no contact with sear tip. Next i tried was the pencil test. With magazine inserted the pencil did not leave the barrel however upon removing the magazine the pencil flew about 2 feet. Tried witb other mags too same result. Im guessing the front area of the trigger bow is somehow being stopped by the inserted magazine. Gun has zero over travel.

So question is what do you pros think?

By the way im going to my smith soon ive tinkered and filed enough i know when to stop LOL

  7. hi everyone someone is selling me this 6 inch 38 super mccormick barrel..there are no markings in the hood. its the first time ive seen a CMC barrel. I was just wondering since im still fairly young (80s born) has any one here encountered this type/kind of barrel? are they good barrels?

  8. A bit off topic. Just wanted to share my experience with light springs and the 38 super. I had a singlestack in super it had a 10lb spring. The brass that were ejected had bulges. When i switched to a 13 lb spring the bulges dissappeared. I suspect the pressure was still high when the case began to eject..which caused the base of the case to expand. I dont think it affects velocity though..

  9. Giod day gents. I have a 2011 with a 40 schuemann hybrid 6 ports. Recoils spring is 13/14 lbs. fired 100rounds which only about 3 ejected. The rest never touched the ejector. Hammer was cocked after firing but the empty perhaps just kissed the ejector before the slide closed. What recoil spring weight should i use? Or should i load my ammo higher? I used mainly practice rounds not too light but certainly not making major.
