  1. One thing I learned the hard way is the striker channels should have zero lube in them. Any lube slows the striker down.

This certainly helps as well... I had soaked my slide in my ultrasonic and think it was an issue as well. Still sticking to the federals for the match but practice ammo has been more consistent since I replaced the striker channel and applied the carb cleaner

  2. Problem solved problem staying solved. Purchased 5k Federal primers for match use and using the Tul primers for practice ammo. My malfunction drills are going to be AMAZING!

  3. What brand springs are you using? I've found that one companies 2-6 pound spring does not always match another's. I use the zev tech springs in one glock and the glockmeister springs in another. I would get a glock OEM spring and some wolf extra power springs and see what happens. If that doesn't work I would put the stock firing pin back in and try the springs again. I would doubt it but there is a chance that the firing pin has a problem. If you can't get ignition with the stock firing pin and the stock firing pin spring then I personally would get the hell away from that ammo.

I've got several brands because over the years I have ordered a couple of different kits trying them out. Stock firing pin and spring wouldn't work either.

  4. The only thing that I can think of would be to return the gun to a complete stock condition. Then if it does not set off those primers I would look into changing the channel liner. If it does work in the stock condition I would start by replacing one item at a time to isolate the culprit. If it does not work in the stock condition I would not use those primers. You might also check the firing pin block, it may be dragging on the firing pin causing you to loose inertia.

Took my brand new firing pin assembly out of my G17 that has maybe 100 rds on it and plugged it in and it still wouldn't set them off. Bought a new channel liner but haven't tried it yet.

  5. Is this a limited capacity gun match?

    Bruce

No- but for us it is a limited ability match.

    6.2 Standard Division

    • 6.1.1 Capacity restrictions: a maximum of 9 rounds can be in the gun at the start of a stage. After the start signal there are no capacity restrictions.

The man with all the answers! Loving this since I just got my new VMAX from Crucible Armament and it has the new couplers from Nordic Components!!!

  6. Thinking about getting a 34 for production. Should I get a Gen 3 or 4? I like the idea of the beavertail on the Gen4, but have read about some accuracy issues & other problems with them.

The accuracy is better with the gen 4 but I found the beaver-tail to be more of a novelty than a help. See if you can borrow someone elses for a day before jumping in. A gen 3 is cheaper and there are more parts for it.

  7. I purchased 20k tula small pistol primers last year and although my 2011 Edge runs them just fine I have literally hit a wall with them in my Glock 34. I purchased the glockworx ext firing pin and have tried everything from 2-6lb striker springs in it and still can't get them to pop consistently. Am I missing something or should I just save em for when I acquire a 2011 9mm?

  8. It is from years of reading left to right. I am right eye dominant but prefer to shoot right to left because I shoot with both eyes and this allows the larger field of view to pick up targets faster. My right eye is obviously looking down the sights which leaves my left eye to pick up targets as I swing. Maybe that makes sense and maybe it doesn't. Best thing is to try it and see on a timer and then you will know which way you prefer.

  9. I have been long term "borrowing" a friends vmax that has one on it and have put close to 2k rounds through it and literally thrown it at every dumb barrel I have seen and haven't had a problem. Negative side to it is that the gun only holds 10 with the lancer ext. and I prefer at least 12. The vmax I am having built now is coming with the new Nordic Components couplers so that I can modify my tube at any time if I see fit. For example shotgun only stages or stages where I don't dump the shotgun I could hold 16 if I wanted to get nuts. If round count doesn't bother you than go for it because it definitely holds up.

  10. My wife and I have Taccom 4UP Duaload carriers which we are currently sharing. I can see where we will probably want our own in the near future and maybe an extra one for slugs. There seem to be several types available, so thinking of buying one different type to try. The two I am looking at are the AP Customs L2 4 or 6 and the Invictus Practical 2 point 8ight either wtih tek loks. They both seem to be quality made. I know a plus for the Invictus is that it can be used both dual or quad load, but I don't know that we would ever want to quad load. Maybe we would and then wouldn't have to invest in new stuff. Those of you that have used either one or both, what do you like or dislike about them? It appears that the back of each seems to be aluminum or some metal. Is that correct? How well do they hold the shells like when moving or bending, etc.? How easy are they to retrieve from? These things are a sizable investment money wise, so I would like your opinions. Just researching the things for this game is a hobby in itself.

Kevin at Invictus Practical by far has the best customer service imaginable and he has every intention of keeping it that way. If your not happy he is not happy. To address some of your concerns the IP caddies do have a very sturdy metal backing that can be bent with quite some force to mold it to your body line. This isn't a bend that is going to move every time you go prone either. In regards to the "yard sale" effect that some caddies have it is a non-issue with the IP caddies. I am very athletic and what I lack in shooting skills I try to make up for with moving quickly on the range. I haven't lost a shell yet from just moving, running, squatting, etc.. I did lose some once when someone decided to put a dump barrel IN MY WAY haha. Well the dump barrel won but that was my own fault. The consistency of the grab on the shells as well as the ease at which they come out actually surprised me because like I said before they don't "yard sale." It is an investment but as you said before the IP caddies can be used for load two or quad load. They also offer a load two only line of caddies if you are certain that's what you want. I have a 6d that i wear on my weak side as that is how i load weakhand and quad strong hand. So even then it may still be useful later on. Hope it helps...

  11. Side question here....can you put a 35 slide on a 34 lower and it will function correctly? I tried in dry fire and it worked fine but not sure there are other concerns like ejector/extractor...

The ejector isn't the same I know for certain.
