Thanks for the input.
I'm sign up to shoot Heavy Sport at Tar Heals in April. I guess the pistol will decide if I stay or go to Heavy Optic.
One other thing I tried to get the rules off Tar Heals sight but I get a blank page. So what about the one hit on paper? Is that still in there?

James, I would like to thank you for the time you made for the video on the class that you will be shooting in. It did clear up a lot of questions. Now that being said, would you have sometime to put together a video to clear up the HM ? I've spent a lot already building
a rifle . I was going to us my Caspian 45 single stack. I still needed to buy 10 rd mags. But now I'm not sure if I should still go that route or go buy a double stack? I'm at a point now if I now for sure on the rules I could go either HM or HMO. Or what ever it will be called.
THANKS

Thanks, I'll give them a look see.

Well first off . My mistake for not telling the whole story. You see I'm one of the guys that shoot long guns left handed and pistol right handed. So I carry my pistol on right along with finding room for my AR mags. And I also load shotgun with right hand. So I run out of room really fast. On a lighter note I have a 38" belt with some overhang over .
So far I have a barrel and BCG, trigger , upper and lower, and comp.

Bryan,
Now the next question ? Mag pouches- how many and what make do you us? Just missed Vltor stock , still locking also hand guards.
The price on them are $ to $$$ WHO. Also The magpul mags the way to go? have you tried the Lancer mags?
-
Hey Bryan,
I take it this is your heavy monster. I have Samson handguards on my other two Ar's. I'll give them a call on this build. What did you us for BCG? How does that comp and stock work for you also? Anything special with the buffer setup?
Thanks,
-
No , I didn't get Jesse's. I was to late. But , I had another person contact me with the same barrel. I was also looking at two barrels on EBay. But , they were used and decided not to us some else's project. Now for the next big part!!

Thanks for your input. I found and bought a new 16" BHW barrel. I think a good price. So that's a start. Now for a BCG and hand guard .
Thanks again,

Hey guys I'm looking to finish my .308 Mega Arms upper and lower set. Need advice on Barrel (length, weight , gas port, make)?
Also a bolt and carrier . And hand guards. I'm going to be using this rifle for the matches at Glen Gary (FNH) and Tar Heal's Matches. For the 300 plus shots. I'm 60 and don't need to buy the best for the time I have left to play. And buying used is not a option with someone else's mistake. Please give me some straight suggestions. I have been looking at the Criterion barrels?
THANKS.

Both reticles were nice and clear. The Razor had more reference marks for elevation . Dot was a little brighter on the Razor then the VX-6.
-
I'll make sure that they will be more like the crimson red that Bushmaster has on their rifle.

As for as which scope? Well this maybe long winded but, This is my story. I had a Weaver scope that I like but I needed to send back for warranty. The Tar Heals match was coming up. Me no scope. So I bought the VX-6. Shot the match . Did well out to 250 yds. after that I was guessing. Not a problem with scope , all me. I sure if I had the custom dial I could have come up with a better ranging of the farther targets. Now after thinking of the past season . Me turning 60, is a $1500.00 scope going to get me in the top 100. NOT LIKELY. Yes, I would more then likely be able to hit the longer targets But it's not going to make me Superman. On the other hand my shooting partner is older then I. So he did buy the Razor and it is a good scope also. He figured that his shooting days are numbered so he bought the $1500.00 scope has done very well with it.
Did it get him in the top 100? NO. So the long and short of it is next year we are going to shoot our heavy metal guns and just have fun while we can. So That's my story. $1500.00 Razor / $1000.00 VX-6 or I have a 1 match VX-6 for $750.00
Hope this is a little help.

I'll let you know when ready. Or email me at gbcustom@gmail.com.
Thanks for the interest, OH ! matte finish ?

Yes, I'll have some red ones made up. If someone is looking for another color let me know by
Nov.

That is pretty much the way I line up my targets also. But when I get past the 300m mark I start going to war and I lose. All being said the VX-6 is really nice, But I like the German 4 on my
Weaver better. Even The dot on the Weaver is not very bright. Right now I have gone back to the Weaver. At local matches out to 200 yards The weaver is spot on. So looking at different direct
in glass for longer range targets. (Maybe limited class and use the speed game. And shoot and
move on the longer targets.)

I have a VX 6 with the fire dot 4. The glass is great, but my dot doesn't show up very good on
sunny days. Haven't sent for new dial yet. Is the new knob like a Mark 6 ?

Hey guys shot FNH 3 gun match. On stage 3 a guy had a AR mag funnel and some other pistol
mag funnels. I think for STI's. He also had one that he was fitting to a DPMS 308 lower.
Does anyone have or tried he's products? I'm not sure but the name was GB custom gun. Could not find a web page. Does anyone know how contact him?
Thanks,
Loneranger

GB Custom also makes slide rackers. They are made from aluminum round stock or stainless steel.
The angle cut is 60 degrees same as Bo-mar sight.
-
If you still need a longer slide racker. I can make what you need.

I like the mail in, With a mail in date. Squading is O.K. online and conformation also works well. Getting new blood into any sport is what is going to keep the sport alive no matter what it is.
-
Dean,
Would you like some AR mag funnels for the prize table?
-
I CAN SEND YOU PICTURES . CONTACT ME AT gbcustom@gmail.com. They are almost a must now if you live in N.Y. 10 round mag rule. A lot more reloads. And they work well with coupled mags..
