Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Hello world, So I have been running 3gun competitions for a while now with my FN SLP Mk. 1 (22") and I love that thunder stick, but recently have been having some failures to go into battery. Talking with some of the pros at the Tar Heel 3 Gun they suggested a few modifications that have been discussed at length on this site like opening up magazine tube for weak hand reloads and welding the lift gate up, but one to help the function of the bolt was to use a dremel tool and some kraytex on all the surfaces that come into contact during the bolt cycle.... So I listened and opened up the feeding port(few dremel slips and unanticipated surfaces scratches but whatever it's a gun that gets thrown around in mud and dump barrels) and some JB weld on the lift gate like I have seen online... Next was to buff all the contact surfaces with kraytex bits and some Mothers metal polish to nice shine. I did all this, but to my disappointment I put it all back together and first pull on the charging handle it was stiffer than ever before! I don't know what I did but it was not the slick sliding bolt I was wanting. Should I buff more? Should I just rack the bolt a couple hundred times with some grease? I'm afraid I ruined my baby! Sorry for the long story but I only told it to see if someone can pick up on where I went wrong!
