  1. I'll wait for Powder Valley since they don't price gouge.

You want to hear price gouging? A local gunshop in San antonio, Nagles, charging $32 for 100 (yes that one-hundred) primers. I',m happy to get them from Cabelas for $37 a 1000. Yes it's high, but I don't have the luxury of waiting on PV right now, if I am going to continue shooting matches.

  2. I am a new reloader...have a Dillon 650 and have had good results so far with TiteGroup loading 9mm with 115 gr JHP and 124 gr Berrys.

Any feedback on Winchester Super Target? Have a chance to purchase some, and with things the way they are, wondering if I should stock up...

Does it work well with the Dillon 650 powder charge system?

    Thanks,

    Terry

  3. Hi everyone. I'm a female from the Texas Hill Country north of San Antonio. I've actually been shooting on and off for about 30 years, however last year decided to get more into competition. I found a local women's shooting club, A Girl and A Gun, joined last year, and several of us shoot USPSA. I've done 3 USPSA matches, along with a steel last month, and am really digging it.

Because of the ammo situation, I decided to give hand loading a try. I bought a Dillon 650 (go big or go home, I always say), took an NRA metallic reloaders class, and spent some time with friends who reload.

So I really like the idea of loading my own ammo...but it's scary as hell. I loaded some light loads last week, went to the range to test them out, and they cycled perfectly, with nice groups. I'm not even worrying about PF right now, just being careful and doing things correctly. I'm shooting a 9mm XDm.

Anyway, that's where I'm at. I've noticed that every time I do online research, I end up here at this forum...lol So decided I better come out of hiding and say hello.

  4. Hi Jensey, I am a female, and new to this forum too...in fact haven't made my intro yet...but anyhoooo....

I've shot about 3 local USPSA events, and found everyone to be fun and very helpful. These guys love to help ! So my advice is to pick their brains on what they are shooting, and why they like it.

I am shooting Limited Minor with my Spirngfield XDm 9mm 5.25 competition. I've been shooting on and off for 30 years...have shot everything from S & W revolvers to a Colt 1911 Gold Cup. I love my XDm because I have small hands and it is very comfortable, and great for competition straight out of the box. . So take a look at one when you have a chance, and make sure you try the different back straps on it. I also belong to a women's shooting club, and a lot of the girls are shooting the XD/XDm...

Because I am new to USPSA, I just take my time, make sure I'm safe, and have fun. Like everyone has said, the speed, etc. will come with experience.

Good luck with your class !
