  1. I've been reloading with carbide dies for 3yrs.now.I just made up some spray lube with lanolin oil and 99% alcohol.WOW,good stuff. I got the lanolin at nature's finest health store for 9.99. The alcohol at Safeway for 2.69. I mixed 1 shot glass of lanolin and the 16oz. bottle of alcohol.

It works just fine. Couple of sprays in a 1qt.ziplock bag, filled it up with 9mm brass and shook it around. Dumped it out on a tray, let it dry a few minutes.Started loading, when

done 20min.in tumbler with corncob media. So much easier on the arm.

  2. I started shooting rio 3yrs ago this month. I started with a S&W 6906 with a 3.8" barrel and a cracked frame. I've shot with the afore mentioned top notch shooters. I agree, you listen and learn, and improve. I'm 63, 60lbs overweight and aches and pains to numerous to mention. I've worked my way up to B Prod/B Ltd in my rio club. B Prod/C Ltd USPSA. I shoot a XDM 5.25. I agree there's so much to learn in a scenario like at rio.

  3. Motosapiens, yea that's it exactly. The only difference is mag capacity and which division i circle on my scorecard. I copy the head scratcher!

  4. yea MWP, those are my weekly tues. night steel times. I use the same gun for both. A 9mm xdm 5.25. Same gun, same ammo, same p.f. motosapiens, being 62 and 230lbs.my transitions aren't as fast as the young whippersnappers but if everything is the same why are the times different? i shoot 8-9 matches a month and practice every friday. it's not like i'm a once in awhile kind of shooter. i've asked the masters and they give me tips and pointers. i think its more mental than ability. But i can't see why when everything is the same and i've been shooting competition 3yrs. any thoughts you may have, i'm open to. thx,

  5. Both stgs and classifiers. I've been shooting steel and uspsa for 3yrs. Local steel I'm B class in each. Uspsa I'm B prod/C ltd. My local Times are 90's in prod. and 100's ltd. My uspsa classifiers in ltd. keep me in low C. I started out Ltd. Went to prod for over a year. Been back in Ltd for 4-5 months now.

  6. Well ummm, my springs gave me fits again last night. So today I got a hold of springfield and they had replacements. They were cheaper than d.p.,s.p.,wolfe. None of them even had them anyway. So I ordered 5 and they're on the way.

  7. I took them apart and your right they do work as long as you don't try to use the wrong base plate. The mags require different baseplates not the springs. Thanks, you know what they say"you learned something new everyday". Thanks again.

  8. They have different baseplates. I didn't think of plugging up the notch in the base plate. Does it work? I've got 2 mags with the bulge and 7 without. It'll see if I can make the baseplates work. How did you plug them up? Brad

  9. I got a Mac folding wagon at Kmart today. $59.99 it has room for my range bag,a small cooler,a folding camp stool and a sweatshirt or raingear if I need it. I'm going to use it on Tuesday nights, weekends and at the Desert Classic this March.
