  1. Has anyone done the maintenance service with AGW? I have a Chaos V1.

Looking for feedback if anyone has used it.

For reference, I'm pretty familiar with my 2011 - complete disassembly and cleaning, etc. I was just wondering if it's worth $300 for Atlas to do the rest of the work (tune, polish feedramp, etc.)?

    Ty

  2. Smoking crack at $8K price range. 😆 that would buy a lot of other nice guns. Hard pass.

Perfectly fine with my Chaos 1.0, I doubt I will shoot double the difference in the 2.0.

I am on the Covid-19 Preparedness Committee at our local hospital, and I've lost track of how many meetings we have had.  On Friday, we had a retired physician from the CDC come and speak with us.  She has decades of experience, and she was intimately involved with dealing with Ebola and SARS.  She mentioned something I had not thought of, and it helped explain the draconian methods being used in our country.  They are trying to eliminate the threat of Covid-19 so we aren't having to deal with it year after year like the flu.  They are trying to eradicate this disease from our country, and it is looking that is still possible.

The reports coming out of Italy are terrifying.  They are running out of supplies and equipment.  The doctors there are being faced with horrific ethical dilemmas.  1/20 people with Covid-19 need a ventilator, and the people are having to spend  2-4 weeks on the vent.  They are running out of ventilators but not patients.  People are being sent home to die.

Because a lot of our supplies come from China, we are faced with the real possibility of running out of supplies like gowns, masks, gloves, etc.  Right now we have a limited number of N-95 masks which prevent the passage of this virus. And we may have to face the possibility of shutting down our OR for elective cases.  We are also trying to figure out how to get more negative pressure rooms to handle the potential influx of Covid-19+ patients.  We are trying to figure out how to isolate these patients from everyone else and still be able to care for critically ill patients without Covid.  Our hospital has only one ICU so we are looking at using either our Emergency Department or our OR's recovery room as a non-Covid ICU.  Plant Ops is looking at knocking holes in the wall or replacing windows in the ICU rooms without negative pressure to install fans to make them negative pressure.  Our operating rooms have positive pressure ventilation so we are trying to figure out how to address that.  We are also having discussions on how we are going to handle a situation when/if we run out of ventilators.  It's an ethical nightmare for us.  And we are also having to deal with the situation of what to do if our doctors, nurses and support staff become ill.  There are two surgeons here.  I am one of them.  What happens if we both get sick?  Our CDC guest lecturer told us we may just have to work while we are sick and do our best not to infect people.  Doesn't that sound like fun?

While people are being inconvenienced with the potential of missing a match, please try to put your frustration into perspective.  We are dealing with a real threat that has disastrous implications.

Same boat.  I work as a clinician on the front lines dealing with the public on a daily basis (ER & Urgent Care).  I probably evaluate and treat approximately 150+ people in a work week.  The issue is supplies.  We simply don't have any.  There is no capability in place when staff are sick (and they have been, not due to COVID19 - but they still cannot work per organizational policy).  I am also on standby for any government response if Uncle Sam comes calling.  Furthering a shortage of staff members in an already stressed department.

A cancelled match is small problems compared to what we are/may/have experience if the healthcare system starts to fracture.

  4. Just wanted to add to this conversation. I am down to my last pound of SIL and wanted to test some Major Pistol to use at Area 1 and Oregon State Championship. SIL has been good to me for a few years. I've noticed the Major Pistol has more of a straight upward rise vs up/right rise with SIL.

This is what I got out of my Atlas Chaos. Temp was approximately 45 degrees. Readings from a LabRadar.

    9.75-9.8 gr - CCI 500 - PD 124gr - 1.169 OAL

    Average: 1366

    Highest: 1379

    Lowest:  1352

    Extreme spread: 27

    StdDeviation: 9.9

    Shots: 10

    PF: ~169

I'm really trying to decrease my SD. Recent switch over to a Mighty Armory 9mm TNT die. I've seen about a 4-5 decrease from the Dillon die. Who knows...

    Any input?

  5. Mostly everyone covered it... but the #1 thing that will make your life easier (and safer) is buying and using a chronograph.  After using lights, magnetospeed, etc...  I have settled on the Lab Radar, best money I have every spent.

Any of you guys running Sil. in your Chaos? I must have a really fast barrel as Adam recommends 7.6-7.9 grs..that makes about 180pf in my gun..7.2 runs 1375 or so with 124 MG...I started with 7.2 Autocomp at about 1400 making 173pf or so..loved the dot lift and pulse of this load...not really sure about the Sil....main thing is it's the dirtiest crap I've ever run!

Funny you say that. I found WAC dirtier than SIL.

    Makes 170pf

I use the exact same recipe. It's great.

BASE PRICE: $1,450.  You certainly don't have to spend that much money to get into PCC, but if you like it then go for it.

I would SBR your MPX pistol as a much cheaper and convertible option.  Just adding a stock and tax stamp is a lot cheaper than spending $1,450.

I can just add a stock and 16 barrel.  No stamp needed.  https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/can-i-lawfully-make-pistol-rifle-without-registering-firearm

The price doesn't bother me (heck, if it did, I wouldn't be shooting Open. Lol). Just wanted to see if it was a good build for a PCC.

  8. After about 10 matches... My DPP is back at Leupold due to glass issues and my upper assembly is back with Adam for an ape hanger fit and to fix my barrel and compensator from rotating. Good thing I'm out of town during this, the itch to shoot the Chaos is hard to overcome.

Did Adam install the thumb rest or did you do that yourself? Getting ready to place an order.

Adam did it for me. YMMV. The only reason I asked for it is because my last open gun had a pedal.
