  1. Does anyone here have any experience with running a PWS rifle in 3-gun? I like the features that it has, but I've read about things like the heat issue after rapid fire. There's also a few threads on how 18"-20" barrels seem to be the most popular, but it wasn't sure if that was an issue accuracy-wise or if it was in regards to recoil.

  2. I was looking at the California-approved list of handguns recently, and I noticed that a lot of them are slated to go away fairly soon. I've never owned a 1911, but I've always wanted one. Ideally, I'd like to try USPSA with it (along with some of the other shooting sports). It would be used for home defense as well. Generally speaking, I'd like fixed sights and ambi controls, but those are easily swappable later on if they don't have it. The springfield range officer seems to be getting decent reviews, and the s&w 1911s (non-e series) look nice as well. An external extractor isn't a deal breaker for me.

My budget is around $1,200 (before fees). Would you guys recommend any others as well? S&W and Springfield seem to have great warranties, which is very important to me for the long haul.

  3. I've been reading threads on the Dillon 650 for the past few days, and I can't seem to get a good sense of how much of a problem detonating primers is with the machine. I've read that you shouldn't force things when something is stuck, but how easy is it to discern? Are there other precautions one can take to prevent such things from happening? Any aftermarket mods to protect your hands, etc?

I've been reading up on the Dillon 650 and the Hornady LnL for weeks now, and it seems like the 650 is favored much more, but it seems that the LnL has less of a problem with primer detonations in particular. Although it (LnL) lacks the powder check if using a bullet feeder(?)

  4. Hello all,

I've been looking over some of the previous topics on the M&P (9mm) accuracy. It sounds like the tolerances are pretty lose, and accuracy leaves a bit to be desired. Does the stock .40 barrel suffer from the same accuracy issues?

Also, it seems like the Hornady XTP (124) and Zero (125?) bullets and titegroup is a good match. Is that the general consensus?
