The scorpionX has the new barrel which is drilled and tapped for most of the popular red dot sights. This brings the dots to the lowest possible orientation to the bore. Mounts are not needed, as the optic is attached directly to the barrel. Another point is you can purchase the barrel only and mount it to your MKII or MKIII frame.

    Thanks for the info.

  2. Thanks everyone! A lot to digest here.

Mine is a 6". I'm changing the front sight to a fiber optic for sure and will look into your suggestions.

Speed bees look great and are pricey, I like the price of the DS-10 but wonder about quality and function long term?

Rebound spring at 14 lbs sounds good and my LGS is going to smooth out the action and install the spring.

I looked a couple of months for this model and came across it at a LG shop and bought it on the spot. It was on display for hours not days.

There were a couple of people interested before me but didn't commit.

    I got lucky for sure!

  3. I'm looking for recommendations on speed loaders that work, front sight replacement (fiber optic preferred) and reduced trigger springs that wont cause light strikes.

I'm trying to get it set up correctly without a lot of experimentation, if possible. It's a S&W revolver .22 cal, 10 shot.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Each grip is unique. There are two length clips and several length screws. No every frame, grip, clip is equal. They test each one out in the factory or real Smith frames. It is possible you have either a defective product or incorrect hardware. As an owner of dozens of Hogue products I can ensure you a quick call to Hogue Grips will get this solved.

Here are some of my Big Butt Grips.

    Will do.

I also tried to line up the cage nut with a small pick.

Thanks to all for the replies.

  5. Looking down inside the grip, the screw hole is too far forward in the square chanel, misaligned so not allowing the caged nut and square retainer to center properly in the grip. So when I try to align the cage nut from the outside of the grip, it cocks too far to the rear.

The screw hits the cage nut retainer and doesn't contact the threads.

  6. Slight problem with the new Big butt grips, the screw provided doesn't contact the caged nut provided. I even tried pushing down on the grip to take all of the play out and shimming the cage nut to get it as close to the grip as possible. Any ideas? It's on a S&W 625 JM model. Thanks.

  7. As soon as I checked out the fact that the extractor doesn't pick up the rounds, I will only use moon clips in them.

The pistols came with more than 75 moon clips and a easy installation tool too.

    Thanks again for the help.

  8. I picked these two up from the classifieds here, and am wondering if the moon clips are required for both, or will either of the 625's work without moon clips?

I know that for competition it's a no brainer, moonies all the way

    Thanks!

  9. Settled in with a Carmony worked S&W 625 JM from this forum to start with.

It requires soft Federal primers, but I just realized that there are a couple to choose from.

Which are the ones to use with soft striking pistols? 150, 150M, 155?

Thanks again to all who responded.
