  1. Anyone else have a issue with the Runes not dropping out with the mag release when they are empty?

I know that is rare in matches, more a foul up when it does, but I run into this with both mags I have set up.

  2. Not really CZ related, but I know there are a lot of CO shooters here.  How is Midway selling the SRO 5.0 MOA for $450 now?  Lowest I see elsewhere is $80 more.

I would think scam, but it is Midway. Hmmm

  3. I had a similar thing.  For me, the gun looked clean, but there was something small lodged in the mag release spring crevice.  I thought it was the mags at first swelling. Thought it might be the mag release button getting caught up on the grips.  Then finally took the spring out and put it back in and presto drop free mags again.

  4. My main goal is to get more than 17 :).  Agree that 24 is only for those rarer occasions, but getting to at least 18-20 is pretty common on stages.  So if can get reliably to 22 rounds pretty happy with the mag.  I don’t think I’d want to shoot all my stages with mags that cap at 17 though.

I just bought a shadow 2 the mags that came with the gun say mec gar on the plus two. Will these work with aftermarket base pads?

See the post above.  I think they are actually mec-gar mags that come with the CZs

Mec-Gar is the OEM for the CZ75 mags and the Mec-Gar branded ones are cheaper than the CZ branded ones, which is probably the main reason why everyone standardized around them.

Makes sense.  Mine have the Cz logo stamp, but they look exactly like Mec-gar and say 17 rnds.  I think the actual CZ mags are 16 or 18 from doing a little digging since I posted.  Thanks all!

  7. Hey everyone, question for folks.  So when everyone posts about mags, it is about Mec-gar.  Are the CZ mags okay as well?

Going to be shooting CO and was going to pick up some extended base pads and gram spring and followers for the two stock CZ mags I have then get 3 Mec-gars.  But should I just pick up 5 Mec-gars?

Thanks for reading what feels like a silly question.

  8. Same happened to me. I bought what was labeled for SP01 Shadow, and got the same size as you.  I had to file and deemed it down a fair amount to fit.

then it didn’t work well, so had to trash it.

Is GX still producing holsters? I ordered one back in May and still haven’t received it yet. I tried emailing them but I got no reply. Does have any contact information for them?

I order in Feb and got it in Aug.  he doesn’t do great in replying (to each his own) but you will get it.  Would add, it is a great well made holster.

I bought a S2 OR about 2 months ago.  Have been shooting two different Glock 17 Gen 4 MOS pistols for the past 5 years in USPSA, so I'm familiar with the plate systems and have no issues using it as long as you use proper mounting hardware and techniques (Google research will pay big dividends).  A lot of folks make a big deal about direct milling, but it's overblown in my opinion and can screw you in the long run.  The plate system has one big advantage by providing long term flexibility to simply change the plate when you want to switch to optics with a different footprint, and it is likely you might want to change if you keep your pistol for a few years and your opinions and technology changes.  Got my adapter plate for the S2 from https://www.cz-parts.com/cz-shadow-2-accessories?page=1&at=16384 and their prices are pretty good even with the shipping cost.  I received my plate in like 2 business days, quicker then service from a lot of companies right here in the US!

I've had a few range trips for training with my S2 and after several mods to get it tweaked to my liking it's starting to shine and I plan to shoot my first match with it this weekend.  Bottom line is I recommend the plate system without any reservations!

Thanks for the response!  It is very helpful and good feedback.

i have a S2OR and have no concerns about the mounting system, it works well. The optic is nice and low mounted too.

    Thanks goshimu!

  12. Hmm, I like my SP01 Shadow, so been thinking to move to a Shadow 2 for Carey optics.  But does anyone have an opinion if it is better to buy the Shadow 2 optic ready vs Shadow 2 and getting it milled?

I see a bunch of benefits to milling, probably a tiny bit lower, may be a little more solid without having the screws move out since it is direct fit.

the optic ready version is about $200 more than stock Shadow 2, so may be we’re talking about $125-150 difference (if you can find a plate).  So after all this blabbing, guess asking if anyone actually made the decision and has practical feedback.

wow something as simple as actually locking it back vs holding the slide back, that did the trick, thanks for that!!  i'm almost sure i didn't lock it back when i did the gg kit and cleaning but maybe i did...

It is one of the internal safeties in the 320, I believe. When you rotate the disassemble lever it pushes a bar on the FCU that blocks the sear. When reassembling the lever going back up dissengages that sear block. I think it can also be disengaged with the slide lock, that is what is shown in the video.  I believe, I’m no armorer though.

Ive had TSA do multiple trigger jobs for me. they generally pull around 2-3lb. if yours is at more than that, something is wrong.

Yeah, I talked with him.  I tried his custom trigger and it averaged 4.5# when he sent it back.  He said all guns that leave his shop are the lightest pull they can be, so he sent me some extra springs to try out.  He did say his trigger is going to be a bit higher and that moving to the stock trigger would be lighter, but would be more overtravel and not as clean a break. So I kept at it.

Those numbers, pre and post, cleaning seem way too high.

When you say you "tried the stock trigger while putzing..." did you just replace the trigger itself with the stock trigger or did you replace all trigger related components, i.e. trigger bar, springs, sear, etc. with the stock components?

Just replaced the trigger shoe.  Everything else was the same since TSA did the trigger job on it.  I didn’t put in any after market parts.

  16. So I had more than 800 rounds through the gun, probably 1200-1300 (took a Steoger class). So this bad boy was dirty.

So cleaned the FCU up, checked the striker assembly (all good there). The sear springs and trigger return spring are good.  It dropped back down a bit.  Was pulling at around 7.5-8# pre-cleaning, and post was ranging 5 to 4.5# post.  Clean break, very little over travel.

Tried the stock trigger while I was putzing around and it was closer to 3.25# but not as clean a break.

His trigger fits my hand amazing, but for USPSA I might opt for the lighter pull and try another option. I’ll caveat this with his work on the action is amazing!

Hogrider, let us know how the KKM works for you.

  17. I had Burke add that trigger to my 320 X5 Legion as well.  I like the characteristics, but overall I think the trigger pull is too much.  After a long session with around 800 rounds the trigger pulled almost doubled.  Given it is dirty and needs a good cleaning now, but I have to give him a buzz.  Glad things are working out for you!
