Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'll keep that in mind, but i plan on using the extra tool heads for my dillon trimmer for 223 brass and 308 brass. i know i cant LOAD ammo in 308 on the RL1050, but i can damn sure decap/size, swage and trim it
  2. No, none of the 1050's be it RL or super carry anything more than a 1 year warranty. Their manual states that it has a "lifetime warranty" covering manufacturing defects... dont know what that entails, but i dont see dillon standing behind anything to do with a 1050 after the 1 year period. I had to argue with them on a couple occasions when parts broke on my super 1050 that was 2 months old... they still wanted to charge me full price for parts. part of that 350 in parts included a new caliber conversion kit as the one on the press is not something i was going to use(45acp) and the shell plate was cracked, and i also bought the complete primer change over parts to go to small pistol primers. that was where most of the money went. i started reassembling and greased up all the ram parts and its smooth as hell. much smoother than my 1050 ever was. i will test it out after the parts get here with a run of 4500 40cal brass and then load them all up.
  3. lol, i already had the goods. no need to lie to him after abusing him lol
  4. nope, but i did PAY the man exactly what he wanted. i didn't even bother to haggle with him!
  5. well i had 2 super 1050's and a 550b and sold both the super 1050's cause i didn't need them any more. fast forward to monday night... found some guy semi locally(4hr round trip) selling an RL1050, and 2 550b's... now i know what everyone is thinking, why the hell do i need all 3 of these presses? Well, i dont... but MURICA and all that... and F the idiots on my local board, i really hate them and did not want them to get any deals(yes its a bit rude but i dont care). so anyways, the guy was selling the RL1050 for 500 bucks. yes thats right, 500 bucks. it was rusty and definitely needed some TLC. He was asking 300 each for the 550b's. Of course i bought all of it. So i get there to meet him, he gives me 2 new extra tool heads for the 1050, 5 powder droppers, a box full of bins and i was pretty happy. called dillon and they wanted pretty much the price of a new super 1050 to refurb this one. i decided to rip it apart and clean it up and see how "bad" the 1050 was. turns out not bad. need to sand blast/refinish the priming system, and case feeder bar as well as the metal parts that hold the ammo boxes. all said and done, i put about 360 bucks in parts into the super 1050 including a new conversion kit because the tard had broken ALL 8 yes, ALL 8 case slots on the shell plate... some people i guess. did i do alright? in all honesty, ill probably get rid of the 2 550's. i dont need them and i have one already.(not looking to sell here, i dont ship stuff like this) mainly interested in what an older RL1050 is worth. i completely stripped the press, cleaned it all and will reassemble when the parts get here with what i bought and use new axle grease on the moving parts. can't wait. picked up a large media separator too for 50 bucks, and 3lbs accurate #7 and 2lb accurate #5 for 40 bucks total for the TL;DR crowd bought a RL1050 and 2 550's for 1100 OTD with 2 extra 1050 tool heads and 5 powder droppers.
  6. Call Dillon they have always given me great service. Give them a chance to make it right. Dillon loaders are the best stuff out there but any thing made can be faulty. Once you get the problem fixed all will be forgiven. why? i have called dillon and they told me it was the shell plate that was not aligned properly. bullcrap. i have it aligned properly. not to mention, how do they explain the case feeder plate CONTINUALLY popping off every 30 seconds like clock work, no matter 15 cases or 200 cases. this machine is crap. now i am pissed because i have a 7000lb pile of brass sitting in my shop with no way to process it.
  7. not shipping it. guys, the thing is a worthless piece of crap. its gone to a friend anyways. please stop asking to buy it.
  8. well, i switched over to 223 for a while and while it was still a buggy POS machine, it worked better than with the 308... then i switched back and wouldn't you know, same old piece of crap. i have had it with dillon products and this machine, and i am selling it on craigslist for 500 bucks. i will never buy another dillon product again.
  9. i have not, but i will this afternoon when i get home. i think the likely culprit here is a bad bench as i will admit my bench is not very sturdy. oddly enough my fiance came in and said why dont you pour a concrete bench! i about flipped and said i would love to but not in the house, but she showed me what she meant and i think it would give enough weight to not move. unfortunately i can't bolt the bench to the wall, but pouring a 3" slab of concrete on top of the bench plus reinforcing the legs may actually work out. i will still call dillon later today and see if they can talk me through it. and the brass does this with both machine gun fired brass and commercial bolt gun fired brass(i have both on hand and checked, although the brass i have does not have signs of being linked as most surplus MG brass i have seen has. i did buy some a while back and that was a total pain to resize. )
  10. well, you may not use the swage... however, when you have 250k cases of 308 to process... you would use it. and i have no doubt the swage is functioning fine. its the case feeder that is the problem. i replaced the bolt AGAIN and it still jams. i re-tightened the shell plate and still jams, only now its about every 5th round. the only thing left it could be is the bench, which i do admit is not exactly the best in the world.
  11. i tightened according to the manual but it still does it. i can always retry it again though.
  12. they sent some spare bolts when i SNAPPED one(yes, totally my fault) before. i just saw one was bent and put a new one in there. still doing the same thing. i have 2 more new bolts left.
  13. so i bought a new super 1050 about 2 months ago and i have been using it to run 308 cases through. i am using the dillon carbide sizing die and thats it aside from the swaging die. when i first got the press, it would only jam or spit out a case about ever 15 rounds. i figured it needed break in time. well, here we are about 15k rds later and the thing jams EVERY single round from the case feeder to the shell plate. i have cleaned the press, broken every part related to the shell plate and case feeder down and cleaned/lubed necessary parts and it still jams EVERY SINGLE ROUND. it is beginning to annoy me to the point of throwing the press out the window and going with something else. i love dillon, i had a 550(still have) but i need this 1050 for the primer pocket swaging. what am i doing wrong? why would it spit the cases out literally every time i pull the lever? sometimes it just jams and i push down on the case and pull back the case plunger and it pops in, other times it just spits the case completely out and onto the floor. any help is greatly appreciated as i dont know what else to do.
