  1. I like the Dawson. I got mine a few weeks before the state match (decided to run the XDM I won last year) it really helped my reloads. The sharp edges of the mags hung up on the frame when I was pushing it a bit too much.

I have seen one of the other magwells (CC PG? Dont remember the brand) but I like Dawson's on my plastic guns.

  2. Find a local welder who is good with TIG. Have them run a fine bead or fusion weld it (no filler rod). Then file it down, polish, and refinish it.

SP is right and it is not structural, so deap penetration is not needed on the weld. Just make sure it is as clean as you can make it before you hand it over to the welder. Heck if you were in the NW I would do it for beer!

  3. I can't find the Safariland holsters that fit the 5.25 on the Safariland website. Can someone point me to a link there or a vendor here on the BE Forum who carries Safariland 5.25 holsters?

    Thanks in advance,

    Keith

They might not have one out yet. Give em a call.

I just got mine, partly to shoot, partly to make holsters for it.

  4. For just a regular cleaning I will field strip and wipe off the old lube and other assorted nasty. Then re lube (I have been using slipstream lately, before that it was slide glide).

I will do a full detail strip in winter when I am bored.

  5. Safariland has a nice lined ALS holster, it is pretty quick. I have used them at work and at IDPA matches.

Kydex will wear the hi points of the gun, but no more. Keep the kydex holster clean (dishwasher or compressed air) and it will help keep down the wear.

I just got my 5.25 so I will make a holster tonight for it.
