  1. I have 3 Dawson +.100 pads. I took the base pads of my other mags to a belt sander to make them work. Look at a pix of the dawson pads so you know how to sand. If you want an idea of my sanded basepads email me and I will take a quick picture.
  2. I like the Dawson. I got mine a few weeks before the state match (decided to run the XDM I won last year) it really helped my reloads. The sharp edges of the mags hung up on the frame when I was pushing it a bit too much. I have seen one of the other magwells (CC PG? Dont remember the brand) but I like Dawson's on my plastic guns.
  3. Thanks I know what I will be setting up this weekend! I also found 1/3 scale tragets with a google search for the guy who asked: http://tinymicros.com/mediawiki/images/c/c3/IPSC_Scale_Printable_Targets.pdf
  4. Am I allowed to post a shamless self promotion pix of my 5.25 holster? http://www.whitedogholsters.com/images/XDM%205.25%20kydex%20holster.jpg http://www.whitedogholsters.com/images/XDM%205.25%20holster.jpg
  5. Just an idea... There is a company that makes rattle can spray/dye to redo old car seats (Sorry I cant remember who) You could use that on a black grip before it is applyed and wont flake off like paint.
  6. Bear Creak 125 moly works best in my 5.25. Best powders have been Universal Clays and HS6 as I recall.
  7. If anyone else wants a #2 or#3 I will trade for a #1. I want to play around but I dont want to screw up my only #1.
  8. Find a local welder who is good with TIG. Have them run a fine bead or fusion weld it (no filler rod). Then file it down, polish, and refinish it. SP is right and it is not structural, so deap penetration is not needed on the weld. Just make sure it is as clean as you can make it before you hand it over to the welder. Heck if you were in the NW I would do it for beer!
  9. Let us know how the new trigger work compairs to the factory trigger please.
  10. I love my 5.25, I shoot it much better than my M&Ps. My only beef is that I just bought 3 more mags and none of them lock back and Springfield wont sell mag springs. As far as the holster goes, I make em for a living so no problem there!
  11. They might not have one out yet. Give em a call. I just got mine, partly to shoot, partly to make holsters for it.
  12. For just a regular cleaning I will field strip and wipe off the old lube and other assorted nasty. Then re lube (I have been using slipstream lately, before that it was slide glide). I will do a full detail strip in winter when I am bored.
  13. Safariland has a nice lined ALS holster, it is pretty quick. I have used them at work and at IDPA matches. Kydex will wear the hi points of the gun, but no more. Keep the kydex holster clean (dishwasher or compressed air) and it will help keep down the wear. I just got my 5.25 so I will make a holster tonight for it.
  14. Hey everyone, I have been lurking here for awhile and finally joined. I have been shooting matches for almost 2 years and I am looking to get better. I shoot in WA state.
