  1. Older thread here but just tore my calf yesterday while aggressively moving from a shooting box to another shooting area.

Felt like what the OP said like I got popped by a ricochet or something. definitely pulled me up from my run, but was able to finish. Luckily was just one stage left which I hobbled through.

Seems to be mine isn't super bad, as today it is sore but I can flex my foot up and down and eventually the sore subsides and there is no visible bruising or swelling. I can put weight on it too so I am hoping it is just minor.

Sucks because I have 4 majors left this year and I am not sure the next 2 are going to be happening.

Its a fairly strange injury for me as I don't really have calf muscles I have cows and work out/stretch them regularly. I would have expected a groin or another MCL injury before I pulled a calf muscle (I've been an ice hockey goalie since I was 13-14).

    Sucks getting old!

Does the gun fit in the USPSA box with the thumb rest on?

If you are meaning for production, I don't think so. The box is 1 5/8" tall and I just measured from my desk (with the gun laying flat) to the edge of the Tevo and its 2.156".

And in this picture you see the SRO mounted where you can actually see a tiny bit of the mounting screws protruding from under the SRO.

This is how mine is from Stone Bridge Gun Works and it is fine. I just made sure to apply blue thread locker and let it cure for 24hrs and its been GTG

No torx head. Tried a couple fastener places and they have hex key only. That 1/16 bit worries me for stripping and I don’t even have the right bit for the fat wrench.

Also just found these on Amazon -

    Stainless

    Carbon Steel

Ebay also has a bunch of options

Not sure if the shape is right, but hopefully this helps!

You can use Torx heads in bit screws sometimes and they wont strip as easy. Also you are only torquing those to like 12 -14 in/lbs so a bit should work OK.

The extra screws I have are hex and I haven't had those break on me (They are grade 8 so a bit better quality than the crap pot metal they are shipped with)

it’s the metric screws, for optic plate to slide I’m struggling with.

If you have an Ace hardware around they should have them. A bit more expensive but you don’t have to buy tons

  7. I've started using Iron American after seeing a few guys try it and like it. Its cheap and works well. Comes in white which is similar to Pro grip and then they have a pink version which I guess smells like strawberries lol.

Not sure how much you need, but they sell multiples at a discount too:

    2 pack ($14.95ea for 8.3 oz bottles) https://ironamerican.com/collections/liquid-chalk/products/liquid-sports-chalk-white?variant=42364889399474

    6 pack ($13.33ea) https://ironamerican.com/collections/liquid-chalk/products/liquid-sports-chalk-white?variant=42673912021170

    12 pack ($12.50es) https://ironamerican.com/collections/liquid-chalk/products/liquid-sports-chalk-white?variant=42673912053938

*Edit - just saw they also sell it in Walmart now too

CZ customer service replied stating they use 8mm long screws.

any sources besides ordering 100 from McMaster? Slightly overkill

Ive got a crap ton of 6-32 x 7/16" screws I replaced my SRO screws with when one sheared off if you need some.

Not sure if you are looking for specific 8mm long - these are about 11mm (I have a Milled slide and they work fine)

  9. Id say polish that mag brake too just to make it a bit slicker. When I got my first S2 (It was one of the first few delivered) the mag brake had some roughness and pits in it. I polished it to a mirror shine and have never had an issue with it.

I also 2nd the concerns of others with the 16rd mags.

Whats the reason for using this vs the factory plate?

The TP9SFX didn't have a plate that worked with the optics that share the Alpha 3 footprint.

Rivals #6 plate will work, but for some reason they removed the 2 support tabs that mate with the little recesses on the bottom of your optics...therefore you have 2 screws taking all of the force every shot. These plates keep the 2 support tabs and come with some better screws to ensure you don't yeet your optic across the range.

The first time I had a battery die on one it would blink every time I shot a round. Was not sure what it was but then quickly realized the battery was about to die.

Same, except mine was on a Texas star lol made it rough

If you change brightness it sometimes changes the refresh rate.

I did have it blinking once on me and then died on a stage, but that was due to battery dying. I hadn’t realized the shorter battery life on these. I just change the battery more often now

Doesn't require any special technology to show it. Romeo 3xl on top (solid straight line) and cmore rts2 (dotted lines) on bottom. The rts2 does the same thing as the alpha3. All three optics are made in the same factory and are obviously using different emitter/circuit board tech with the 3xl having no flicker and better battery life.

Is this just from taking a picture? I’ve never seen a dot look like a straight line or a line of dots before….

Nice idea, but are we talking about USPSA Carry Optics?  if so, who makes a holster that will accommodate the slide stop/thumb rest *and* be legal for CO (distance from the inside of the belt)?  Nobody seems to make one for the SSI Nitro Fin...

Ghost makes one and Black Scorpion is supposed to be releasing one soon as well. There are a few others too.

From what I understand there are two models and one does keep the rear sight on.

The Dark side edition comes with a plate that has sights on it and a spot for an optic.

  17. Picked it up today. Really nice pistol for the money. One of the best out of the box triggers I have ever felt.

Let me reference that with, my main competition guns are tricked out Shadow 2’s with ALL the trigger work done to them and this one besides pre travel is just as nice if not a touch better (no DA first pull).

Ive got 2 TP9SFX guns with the Freedomsmith triggers and trigger work done and this factory trigger feels better! Freedomsmith gets rid of the pre travel so once I do that with this trigger it’s going to be outstanding.
