  1. My job is moving me from Dallas to Phoenix. Dallas was great for shooting sports being that there was plenty of matches. One thing that Dallas lacked however was the availability of a practice range. Dallas Gun Club was about the only option and last I heard they had about a 5 year wait list.

I'm moving probably to the Tempe/Chandler/South Phoenix area as I work at the airport. Are there any practice ranges where I can basically get a bay and practice at with a membership?

Thanks! Looking forward to moving to the practical shooting mecca and watching the likes of Rob and Nils crush me.

  2. So it looks as if the barrels alignment pin was out of spec a bit. Adam Arms seems to think it mushroomed a bit which I agree with. They sent me a replacement and return shipment labels and had a new barrel out to me in a couple days. The new barrel fits like a glove. Thanks to Adam Arms for the excellent customer support. I understand things happen and you guys made it right.

  3. Turn you gas to the off position then one click out. Load 1 rd into your mag and fire the rd. Keep adjusting the gb until it will lock back reliably, no more, no less. One thing to keep in mind is if you shoot in the winter time or cold weather you may need to adjust your gas setting to compensate for the cold weather. Good luck!

In cold weather air is more dense, so would I remove clicks?

  4. I'm new to the adjustable gas block game and would like some info on tuning the gas block.

It's a SLR gas block w/ a Taccom ULW buffer tube, Comp, TT buffer spring, and a Boomfab BC. What's the best way to tune the gas. I'm literally looking for a "idiots guide to adjustable gas blocks"

    Thanks,

    -j

  5. Well they make this model in a lefty upper that I just found. Think I will just go with that. Thanks for the replies.

Interesting! Just remember that this is a very heavy upper.

The Samson Evolution free float looks like it was made for this upper... it took a little milling l to get the anti rotation tabs to fit, but it looks sweet.

I mean how much heavier? The build is a lightweight Open Division AR. Am I breaking the bank with weight on this when I'm using a voodoo barrel and skeleton stock?

  6. My 3500 is going burst (2 rounds every trigger pull) every once in a while. I haven't messed with the trigger at all. Only things I've done is put the nordic tube on and started opening up my loading port. Any idea?

The light load reliability has gotten a little better. I ran 100 rounds of Super Handicap and have kept the bolt back a couple days and it's only failing to cycle every once in a while. I think it will go away eventually.

Did it do that before any mods were done?

Yes or no...remove the wash the trigger group.

No, but I only put about 100 rounds through it before messing with it.

Like I said, the only things I've done where begin to open up the loading port and add the nordic extension.

I'll give it another thorough cleaning.

  8. From the little bit of research I've done on shotguns, it seems like they are all very similar, at least the recoil drive models. I would say any gunsmith that works on shotguns should be able to open the loading port and weld up the lifter.

Called Benny Hill and they wouldn't work on it. Any other suggestions?

    Try C-Rums.

Thanks, they'll take it, and for the price I just may send it out. I plan to break it in a couple more times sending some more rounds downrange with it and I'll post the pics of the loading port work I've done so far.

  9. So I started working on opening up the loading port, but I'm not comfortable working any farther as I don't want to paperweight the receiver/shotgun. It isn't anywhere where it needs to be for quads/deuces. Anyone know of any gunsmiths that will open up the loading port and weld the lifter on the stoeger?

I have yet to see any gunsmith open up a loading port anywhere close to how far mine is open. Most are a fraction of what you see on Pat's gun. It's gonna be tough to get anybody to hack on a receiver that far. Take it slow and post pics and we will walk you thru it.

I'm out on the road with my job and won't be home until the weekend but I'll post pics then. Thanks!
