  1. Is the SuperSport essentially an M2, but with carbon fiber treatment?

No they are completely different guns. The ss has a front end smaller then the diameter of a shell so an extension can't be added. The Cordoba and sport II are the same thing just different furniture so they won't be competitive in 3 gun either.

I don't think you will be disappointed with either the m1 or m2.

  2. I ran 4 Mme caddies last year and it wasn't always enough, so I bought 2 more for this season. I only have an 8 round tube tho.

Even with my large hands I have the issue of not being able to grab the rear row of shells on the AP 4x4, so I would recommend borrowing one and trying it out before you buy one.

  3. Usually when they say right handed it is all the gear for either a right handed shooter or a left handed so since your right handed I assume you need the right hand mag pouches. I haven't delt with the safariland stuff much but have been eyeing up the els system.

I second you only need 1 ar mag pouch for an oh s**t mag.

  4. The quality that I meant was the finish. I did a quick google search on the DPMS pins and from the pictures the finish did not look good. This may have been just bad pictures. But I don't know this for sure. I have not held a set of the chrome plated pins in hand to check them out. If the chrome plating is not done well, would this lead to problems? Pins working loose? Should plating come off would this lead to the upper and lower having a loose fit? That is why I asked about SS pins. Thinking if they were machined from SS then uneven plating would not be an issue. Yes, I am going for a finished look to the rifle build. I am not going to give up quality or reliablity for looks.

If I can come across a set of the DPMS ones, I would gladly buy them and check them out.

    Thanks for the feed back,

    Jason

If the chrome plating does come off which I doubt it will it shouldn't make the pins lose since most platings are only 0.0005" or so. Chrome is a pretty hard and tough metal.

  5. Very interesting graph! That took some time to track and enter all the info into. Thanks

I'm also hoping that i can score some cheap pmags now that they just took the assault weapons ban and high cap mag out of the bill they are pushing through. Maybe even a nice back up gun from someone who bought when it was crazy and realizes they don't need it and just need $$$!!

  6. I use the same zero as you since most local matches only go to 200yds. I carry a target around in my range bag that I shot 3 shot groups at different yardages so I can quickly look at where my poi is before the stage. My memory escapes me to quickly to remember where my poi is for all the yardages in 3gun. Trying to hit slivers of targets between no shoots without knowing your poi really kills your time!!!

  7. After welding up my carrier, so my thumb doesn't keep getting pinched, the button to release shells onto the carrier stopped working. It works just fine when shooting but when practicing loading I can't get the shells back out of the tube. I have to manually move the carrier latch out of the way to release a shell on to the carrier so i can cycle the shell out. Anyone else have this problem? I did remove so material from the middle of the carrier latch so shells would go in easier but it worked before I welded up the carrier just fine.

  8. I have seen some of them melt in the chamber. Pick wisely.

Maybe in centerfire, but in smallbore (rimfire sporter Match) no problem. But definitely could be a problem in 3 gun.

+1 for smallbore. Never had a problem in my free rifle but that never gets hot with that much metal to heat up. For the ar i use one i have left over from highpower not sure who made it.

  9. I welded mine up myself and had a friend plate it for me. Cost me a case of beer and an hour or so to get it sanded down nice before plating. Have to have a welder or know someone who does tho.

  10. Obviously your going to loose some accuracy and velocity with a 14.5 compared to 18. But a quality barrel like your kac should be be able to hit 600 yds with the right load without a problem. Try a bunch of different loads and see what it likes.

  11. I agree with jaxshooter. Go to some local matches or where ever you will be shooting the most and see what distances they are shooting. My local matches don't go over 200 yrds and have a lot of close fast stuff where I felt that building a 14.5" gun was worth it.

  12. There are all different kinds of lowers. Expensive, inexpensive, cheap, cast, billet, and polymer. They are not all the same.

Bigfish right, I think mostly you are just buying the name. I have EA, dpms,bushmaster,C3, doublestar palmetto and hogan. All.look about the same holes all line up. I think it is mostly ego. But I could be wromg

All Milspec might be similar but all lowers are not the same. There is a HUGE difference between my dpms and noveske. The fit and finish on the noveske is second to none and its a blem! Before all this craziness hit you got what you paid for.

  13. I also wanted to add that I just recieved my pistol back and all I can say is WOW. What a difference. The trigger is amazing now in my 226. Really looking forward to this upcoming season of 3-gun now. Can't beat a 5 week turn around, with the holidays in there.

  14. Good hearing a positive story. I got into 3-gun about a year and a half ago and am hooked. Can't get to enough matches. Really sucks that the winters are so cold here in Wisconsin. Thing I have learned that makes you the quickest, when starting off, is to know how to operate your tools(firarms) without thinking, whether it be clearing a jam or reloading. Just my $.02
