Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I purchased a Champion (.40 S & W) about 4 months ago (SN 114) and absolutely love it. Problem is all my shooting buddies want to shoot it --- even strangers come up to me and ask to shoot 4 or 5 rounds. I know of at least 4 people (including myself) who would like to buy one. Google picture to see what it looks like. Question #1 --- Is there any place (other than Gun Brokers, Guns America, Guns International, etc.) who could provide availability information? The owner of my favorite gun shop (I've never walked into a gun shop that wasn't my favorite at the time) said that he had never seen a Champion with a 4 digit serial number and that he thought that CZ only made about a 1000. CZ stopped production around 2010, giving the product life less than 15 years. Question #2,3, & 4 --- Does anyone have information concering the numbers manufactured (or where I can find it), what was the reason CZ discontinued this model, and other information on the Champion? CZ directed me to this forum. Thank you in advance for replies and comments.
  2. Just joined the forum and I am also a "new old guy from Texas." It appears you have bee reloading for some time now. I will be getting an XL 650 to reload 40 cal. and 45 ACP to start with as soon as I can negotiate agreement terms with the "proprietor" of MY garage. How do you like the XL 650 as opposed to the "Lock-N-Load? Other than enjoyment, do you find it worth your time to reload 9 MM? Reverend ShamusOnU
  3. Hi, From the burbs of W. Houston (or E. San Antonio) with roots from (in) Cajun Country. (A popular "Yogism" can be said about Houston - "Nobody goes there anymore, it's just too crowded.") I was an avid duck and dove hunter in my younger years, but my younger brother finally convinced me to get into handguns a couple of years ago. Since then the interest has grown and expanded into an interest in reloading. As I get closer to retirement, I will pursue these hobbies more and more. I am somewhat interested in viewing and attending competition shooting, but much more concerned in pursuing the shear enjoyment of the sport and picking up finer points and tips from others. This forum appeals to me more than others as it seems to have fewer "experts" and more civility. Reverend ShamusOnU
