Well I'm sitting on the plane heading home from this match! It was a great match! Wish stage 8 & 9 had bigger rifle targets but that's just because I couldn't get them! Larry did a great job directing this match we were on time the entire match... Most of the RO'S were great! Especially stage 8! watched one incendent on stage 2 where two of the RO's corner a shooter who disaggreed with their calls and wouldn't let him get a word in edgewise and raised their voice while he kept calm. Only bad thing I saw.. All it the RO's were great to me! Wish my shooting was better and I'm looking forward to this match next year!

You might Tri top it?

On a positive note most of the RO's were great! The stages were great! The sponsors put out a great prize table! Really enjoyed parts of it!

Dear Shooters,
If you would like to participate in the team event please fill out the attached form and submit during registration. Teams consist of 3 shooters. Only one team member needs to submit the form. You may choose to shoot on a team with any 3 people you like. The only exception is that all 3 shooters can not be in open division. You will receive your shooter numbers and team number at registration on Thursday. If you are unable to print the form before Thursday we will have extras at registration. ALL PARTICIPANTS WHO WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TEAM EVENT MUST SUBMIT THIER FORMS BEFORE SHOOTING BEGINS ON FRIDAY. See you Thursday.
Thanks,
Marcy Carruth
How does a team with a DQ'ed shooter gain another competitor on the last day of competition to fill the spot of the person? A bet on the trifecta and one of my horses broke it's leg I don't get to pick the winner and cash the check.

If there are any truth to the rumors this match had some serious funny business.. Really suspicious..
Hey maybe I should shoot with the RO's next time.

Got the email conformation this morning!!!

Bladetech WRS hands down best holster. With the hood up there is no way for the gun to come out.

If I were you I would go full custom. Buy once cry once! If you get a custom gun it's exactly what you want.

I placed an order for a custom 2011 in early June of last year. I received it in early October before Fallen Brethren. When I got it I shot it in the white up until late January because I could not decide on a finish. I finally decided I would get the black Nitride finish done by H&M metal processing. Once I sent it back to my gunsmith for a few touch up before it was finished it was sent to H&M. When they got it they had it ready to be shipped back in about two weeks. I sent it in right before Shot Show. I was very impressed with the turn around time with the trade show. When I got it back in my hands I was very impressed. It is a very smooth finish. It really helps with cleaning it just comes off the gun. H&M did great work with it. Smooth turn around not much of a hassle.
I only have one Con with it so far. It doesn't appear very strong. I have had the gun back for a little over a month and the finish is starting to wear off at the front from dry fire and live use. I don't think it should already be worn through at the front. Im curious to see how long it will last before more starts to come off. It was very surprised to see it when I was cleaning my gun the other day. It's not very noticeable but when you take a closer look it's very visible. I will post a picture of it when I get home today.

I mean the reason most people want a 34 is for sight radius. If you're building an open gun you have a dot why would you need a longer sight radius?

I know this is a little farther than a couple of hours but in Sparta IL the gateway three gun has a great match!

So it's kind of like IDPA with the pistol? I agree with the rifle scoring but I don't like pistol scoring for that.Horner scoring is two alphas to neutralize. A Charlie is a .5 second penalty, a delta is a 1.5 second penalty. Only one hit is still 5 seconds. So a paper target with a Charlie and a delta hit is a total of 2 seconds in penalties.
Steel targets over 100 yards also have a higher penalty value- 20 seconds.
Why the difference? It requires a little more aiming and knowledge of POI at closer ranges. 1/2 size paper targets also work great for rifle at 25-100 yards.

Scalpel Arms... best hands down. Scalpelarms.com

This past weekend I was at the 3GN qualifier match. It was quite cold in the morning with temps in the upper 20s. One shooter in particular shotguns was so gummed up it couldn't cycle. I was just wondering is this a running issue with Fire clean.

Who all is in for this great match?

EGW and SVI make amazing parts.

You're already at a disadvantage with your rifle. It is a choice you make if you want to play that game. I have shot/shoot both Tac Irons and Tac ops. my pistol isn't holding me back. I mean a good shooter could come out here with a Highpoint and still beat you.I was just on another thread where they were discussing adding/modifying a USPSA pistol division, and it made me think of this. Why wouldn't the Tac Irons / Limited division have the pistol choices restricted to the USPSA Production division list? This is the division that new shooters try first, and there is no doubt that the competitor shooting a tricked out 2011 in 9mm has a distinct advantage over the guy shooting his G17. Has there been discussion on this?

Yes. I just added the paddle.
Oh, and just the drilled and tapped standard STI release. The release is not extended at all by itself, just added the paddle?
It's the STI I really like it.
Very nice, which mag release and paddle are those? How do you like the positioning of it?My 9mm for 3Gun! I love the black nidride!

Aaron Hayes of Hayes Custom Guns in Austin.Nice pistol, who did the build?

I would also like to thank stage 6 for my swollen ankle! Fun stage! Shouldn't have tried to jump halfway down the slide!
