  1. While still new around here I spotted the Reloading Bench Gallery - really nice. :)

A little Q popped into my head though - where did most of you come up with your nick's/user names that you use on this forum? Some are easy to guess; other must have story behind them. ;)

Let us know how you came up with or where you got the names.....

Mine originated at the African Championship in South Africa in 2003. I forgot to bring my little passport photo - too much shooting on the brain - so one of the stunning stats ladies told me to draw myself...as if that would work ;) . I drew something that resembled me and a Buffalo. Her comment was " Hi, nice to meet you dead buff..." and it stuck.... <_<

Nothing spectacular - your turn..... :P

  2. Without knowing the details of the call and going on what is stated, it makes my opinion a bit biased.

If that call was a real life-and-death situation he could have stopped the shooter and let him re-shoot later. I think no one will be cheesed off if the call was that bad. Safety first though!

ANY other reason for that call he should loose his RO status with immediate effect for life. H**l if the RO's act like that what is next?

  3. Thanx for the info...

We had a guy use a piece of a 2 litre plastic milk bottle as a holster since he forgot the real thing at home. As belt he used some electric wire. Now I can be nasty to him.....and his draws were faster than before.... <_<

  4. I shoot a P16-40 (older model) and have done very little tweaking on it - yes some parts replacment but everything total between 100-200 USD.

I have played around with a STI and have found it getting used to.

IMHO it boils down to peresonal pref. Top guys win with Tanf., BulM5, Para, S_I, and what else.

I don't like the top-heavy feel of plastic guns when they run low on ammo and my Para runs 100% and is more accurate than I am.

Pick what you like, then check with the bank mang (some call them wife... ) and get it.... :P

  5. Good shooting!

To avoid those kind of penalties I really go through my game plan before each stage - know it by hart. That way my feet land where they are supposed to and, although I stay aware of the surroundings, I can concentrate more on that sight.... <_<

Have a penalty free next shoot! :D

  6. Have you tried the PA/BP option? Might be a good way to realy test holsters...no one will remeber to adjust them.... :P

Thanx for the info. Still feel that a holster should at least conform to the jump over 0.5m while turning left/right......IMHO <_<

  7. While RO'ing I got struck by a piece of copper/lead combo that penetrated my shirt and left me bleeding centre chest just below the neck line. Did some quick repairs to myself. Got the next shooter going - he shot another popper and I got struck by copper/lead combo on the nose....lots of blood. <_<

Steel was 12m and 15m away respectivly.....

We had many RO's, shooters and spectators hit by flying metal - there is a very good reson why you should wear eye prot and some kind of better clothing.

  8. Did the search and didn't get what I was looking for.

The holster retention test seems to be removed from the IPSC rules. I always thought this was a reletivly good thing - kept everybody safe from those flying guns.....

Just wanted your opinion on why this "rule" was dropped. Is such a test a good idea or not?
