  1. At the local monthly match there are a few guys who shoot open guns. Rarely do they make it through a stage much less a match without some sort of malfunction. I'm not super familiar with open guns so I don't know exactly what is going on, but it looks like it takes all of the fun out of it. There are 1 or 2 that have it ironed out and make it look easy though.

  2. I wish I could help out but I have the same problem. The sights come down nice but the post is always touching the left side of the rear notch. I am assuming that it has something to do with my grip. I have a few things that I want to try now that the weather will let me get out and shoot again.

  3. how do you guys like the creek? I am a member and usually spend all my time on the rifle range

I love it. my brother, son and myself look forward to it all month. We have a blast.

    Shooting it tomorrow

We shot today as well. If I would have seen your post yesterday I would have said hi.

  4. I have been using these this week, they are great. Buy with confidence folks.

I have been using the sticky putty that is usually used by elementary school teachers to stick things on the walls.

Easy removal for changing the target arrays up.

I was just getting ready to start using my targets and was trying to think of an easy way to adhere these to a board. Thanks for the tip.

  5. I shot Limited-10 when I first started with a stock G22. You just might need an extra mag or 2 and you'll get the benefit of the major PF scoring. Either way you'll have a blast and learn a lot. Once you get rolling you'll have a better idea of what direction you're going to head equipment wise.

  6. That group looks good to me! I have found that the more I shoot one gun the better I get with that particular firearm. Maybe try just using one gun for a few range sessions. See how that affects your group.

  7. I have used it. By the time I made it to major, the recoil was a little excessive for USPSA. I do use it to replicate my carry ammo for practice in my carry gun.

  8. Promo is said to be the same powder less the red flakes.

Correspondence with Alliant leads me to believe that Promo has a broader density specification, also, though it's been a while since I read their reply. In any case, I've used Promo in every pistol/revolver caliber for which I reload (.380 ACP to .45 Colt), and have never had less than very good results. In all but a few situations, I had very VERY good results. It is clean, economical, and more versatile than I first expected. I tend to shy away from using it in very large cases, like the .45 Colt, because I am paranoid about double-charges (I prefer Unique or Herco in it for this reason), but if nothing else is available, Promo will certainly work and work well. The little competition in which I've engaged while using Promo made me appreciate it more. It is very much an "unsung hero" among prospective competition powders.

I've had the same results. Promo does well in 40 major for me. There are a few good threads here about Red Dot and Promo.

  9. It's a little wolfy...

I don't know what this means yet, but it may be my new favorite adjective! I don't suppose I could get you to rephrase that?

:D It just means that it's louder in a bassy sort of way. Less crack and more thump.

I noticed that rounds loaded with BE-86 sounded way tougher than the chrono said they were.
