So I just recently purchased a Square Deal B for both my Springer 1911 .45ACP and my XDM 5.25 9mm. I have loaded quite a few .223 on my single stage so far without 1 single issue. I'm starting to get the hang of it now. For reference I am using a Lyman 49th edition for data to load my XDM 5.25 9mm. I am using Montana Gold 147 CMJ with Bullseye powder and CCI small pistol primers. The data in the book tells me to run an OAL of 1.115. I have loaded about 20 rounds so far with an OAL of 1.117-1.120. I see a lot of people here loading out to 1.15. Should I be concerned with an issues loading my OAL as short as I am? I have been setting up different loads from 3.4 grains to 3.6 grains so far. This is all for testing purposes. The manual says I am safe out to 3.9 grains of Bullseye. This gun is primarily used for speed steel with the occasional plinking at the range.
I guess my main concern is reliability in cycling and safety with the suggested OAL in the Lyman manual. Anybody see issues with how I have loaded so far? I won't get to shoot them until Thursday.
Thanks in advance.
