Stock sti magwell is just fine
-
For carry gun there is no reason to disable it. Just for safety. But for competition, i think its ok to do it. I disbabled on my custom sti.
-
I used ed brown internals and doug hammer. Crisp 1.5#

As far as content of the safe goes, do what you're ok with. My wife don't care how much stuff I have as long as bills are paid and $ is in savings. I buy her Nice stuff every now and then so she knows I'm not just spending it on me. What I've found works best for me is set up an allotment from my paycheck that goes into my rarely used checking account. Saving and the moneys not missed.
You're a good family man bro!!!

Came from g17 to custom 5" sti. The sti shoots accurately compared to g17. Just my opinion.

Im using egw flgr with the reverse plug that i ordered. My gs made me a new plug.

I tried using it on my gun. It wont fit properly. End up going to the smith coz my flgr got stock.Guys I have another question I am looking at going ahead and picking up a guide rod for this gun since I have read so many people not liking the recoil master. My question is can the plug used with the recoil master be used with a standard guide rod? I have tried searching and couldn't find much info on it

Nicely said....the one thing folks won't tell you about when it comes to having a gun built, is just how stress full it can be.
Until you have someone that you really trust to make your money spent worth every dime, you are better off staying away.
There are a few guns smiths around the country that are very good, and there are other (some big name smiths) who will build you a $3k paper weight, and turn around and tell you it's some how your fault...
Even when the gun is built by a good smith, sometimes the gun has to be sent back for tweaks which is a stressing ordeal on its own.
If you can find some one that you fully trust, and it's local to you. You've hit the jack pot.
The whole exercise is allot easier if you already have a gun to get you by. If your first STI is a custom build there's allot of room for unmet expectations..
Get an edge, start shooting limited.,
Once you find as smith you trust, if you still have the itch for a custom go for it.
As for me, I'm kind of going backwards.. Started custom, and now I rather have factory with minor tweaks..

Who is your gunsmith bro? Did you consider egw beavertail? The oversize one? Just saw it on their site. No gaps between the mainspring housing...mine had gaps on the ed brown.

What gun are u using?

Aside from the sights and posi lock mag release, whats the difference between stock edge and dawson crp edge
-
Voted for 5" full dust cover and bull barrel. Less recoil. And also my gunsmith inserted tungsten steel into the barrel

Congrats on ur nice gun...by the way what ammo are u using

True bro. Thats why i ended up with a custom gun. Almost bought an stock edge

I just installed the grip i ordered from shooters. Its an advance performance strippled grip. And the mag just drop freely compared to the stock grip. Thanks advance perdormance.

tnx guys...need to do some tweaking

I have a really nice, custom 6" 2011, and when I was getting started I regularly got my ass handed to me by guys with the finish rubbed off their stock Edge or Eagle. Found out it was practice practice practice way more than chasing gear.
indeed...indeed practice

Yes sirs it wont drop free when fully loaded. When loaded 18 rnds, it will lock in but with a little tap on the base pad. On my sti tubes with 18 rnds, there is no tapping involve...maybe the tubes are weaker compared to sti tubes.
-
Has anyone encountered this problem? When the mag is full of bullets, around 19. Its hard to lock it or should i say insert it into the gun. When i reduced the bullet one at a time, its getting easier to insert it. I think the tube is expanding when full of rounds...any idea? Thanks. Im using a custom sti edge.

The big difference between a factory made gun compared to a custom gun is the slide to frame fit. Custom guns has a tighter fit.
-
I love glocks for the weight. But my custom sti shoots better.

At first im using sit recoil master..after a while decided to use stainless steel guide rod with 12.5# recoil spring. tried to use the reverse plug that came with the rm, but had problems with it. my gunsmith made me another one just for the new guide rod.

I use glocksore's tungsten guiderod. So far so good. Just a precaution. Dont drop it. My friend accidentally dropped his rod and it chipped at the end.
