Properly applied cerakote  won’t chip there. But it will wear smooth and slick. Basically it’ll get polished down by the holster in a few months in that spot... but it shouldn’t chip.

If you want a hard enough finish to show NO wear, a nitride or ion bond or DLC type of high-end finish is your only option.

Thank you for the tip.  Will ask my gunsmith for that finish..I appreciate your quick response and the things that you posted about tanfoglio guns.  Ive learned a lot.

  2. I used one of Johnny's perfect sight before with a tungsten barrel after 2k rounds i sold it and got SV. The guy that bought it from me cracked the sleeve after 2k rounds.

I think gumsmiths here perfected this sleeving of the barrel with tungsten. No reports of cracking as of today and yes you can always practice to be a good shooter. At first i was quite hesitant in installing one but i noticed majority of the shooters here use it and they are improving faster than i am so i decided to put one. Im just a weekend shooter and just jumped in the tungsten bandwagon. Let's just see how our guys here fair in the WS

I agree with you. Gunsmiths here in the Phil perfected it. Im using it also. Its like shooting 9mm. Need to get used to its weight.

  3. Will old style sv mags run in the new grip without mods?

    From my experience, Yes.

I run 4 different brands of mags in my SVs: STI, Rescomp (requires some fitting), SV old styles and SV new styles. All run flawlessly.

The best remains the newest SV mags. All the others are used for training.

What did you do to the rescomp mags? Im having problems with my rescomp mags when im still using my stock sti grip. It wont drop free. After i installed my advance performance grip, it just dropped free!
