  1. Show up with questions you want answered that you can't answer yourself. Do you have a Kestrel with Applied Ballistics software? Do you know how to "true" it? Do you have a sling and know how to use it? Etc. get your money's worth out of the class.

  2. One of my buddies from high school played an extra when filming took place near Durango, CO. He was constantly plugging the movie via his Facebook account.

I finally watched the movie 2 weeks and I wasn't impressed.

I never even saw which character my buddy played. I think his part was edited out. Oh well.

  3. We couldn't figure out why they didn't have at least a few guns on the hijacked ship. But this blurb from the imdb makes sense:

The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.

    Great movie.

I was wondering the same thing about the lack of guns on the high-jacked ship.

Perhaps it has something to do with firearms laws in countries where firearms are illegal all together. Maybe the maersk travels to those countries where guns are outlawed.

Or maybe it's just a simple company policy that there are no guns allowed on any of there ships.

  4. I pre ordered today at a verizon store. They were already sold out of some of the colors in the 16GB size phones. They promised a ship date of next friday on the regular size iPhone 6. The larger screen iPhone 6 plus had ship dates in mid October. I think they were quoting mid October because they were sold out of certain 6 plus models at 3pm today.

  5. I've got a KKM .40 barrel that some rounds (10%) won't chamber. Those same rounds that won't chamber will pass a chamber check with my Dillon case gauge, my HK USP .40 barrel, and a stock Glock barrel.

The rounds are loaded using a redding sizing die, and crimped with a Lee FCD.

I did some research and found out that I could have the KKM barrel loosened up a bit by KKM, but I'm too lazy to send it in.

I simply save my 10% failure rounds for when I shoot without the KKM barrel.

  6. What prices are your local scrap yards giving you for your junk brass and primers?

Yes guys. Junk brass and junk primers, as in those primers that are spent and that brass that I've some how managed to destroy and crush by my delicate hand ;).

I save all brass and it gets sorted into the reloadable bucket or the junk bucket.

  7. Many will say they are ruined but I have had my HK91 since the 80's and reload for it. The cases will resize normally and can be reloaded normally. Only thing I have found is that they are harder to get totally clean unless you really work them. I woudl gess the newer ss pin cleaning woudl work well on the brass but I just use the regular media.

Here is some 9mm brass I collected from my HK94 with the fluting stripes:

and here the same brass after cleaning with the wet tumbling stainless media:

It's crazy how nice the brass looks after it's washed!

  8. I have a few pounds of brass I'm ready to take to the recycle center.

What prices are your local scrap yards giving you for your junk brass and primers?

This will be my first trip and haven't figured out where I'm going get the best price.

Is there some sort of national "spot price" like there is for gold and silver?
