Hello,
I'm new here and am trying to get some info on reloading for service rifle competition using the Dillon 550. I'll mostly be loading 30-06 and .308 for my Garands and M1As. I do have some limited experience reloading on a single stage RCBS Ammomaster press, but feel the need to step up to something faster.
I bought one of the Dillon case trimmers awhile back, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet since I got out of shooting for a while. Sorry for the dumb question but I'm kind of trying to get a handle on how this trimmer works in the reloading process with a progressive press. I understand that the trimmer die resizes the case and trims at the same time, but you still need to debur the cases by hand, correct? So really with this setup you no longer truely have a progressive press since the trimming operation is separate from the rest of the loading process? I guess what I'm trying to ask is, would one of you guys be kind enough to go through the steps of loading a completed round using a 550B press and 1200 case trimmer? Would a 650 press be a better press for my purposes? Thanks for the help.
Ben
