Had exactly the same problem with a new Taccom firing pin.  Ordered two to replace the orginial pins in two of my Taccom Extreme bolts....one is fine. The other one got beat up and kept "catching" on the firing pin hole.  Pulled it out and this is what it looked like.  Tried cleaning it up, but still have problems.  Waiting on Tim to get some new ones in.  Sometimes things happen and they slip past the inspectors....I'm a patient guy

I have two of the Taccom pins as spares. Tried one today just to make sure it worked. I got 5 rounds off, the. It started hanging up inside my bolt. I think I will just pick up a few CMMG pins for spares. My OEM pin has about 7,000 rounds through it .  I’m using the Surmount Defense bolt

  3. Looking to pick up a spare firing pin or two just in case. What seems to be the best firing pin for the Faxon Gen 2 BCG? I'm running the Surmount Defense BCG which is the same design as the Faxon. Looks like the BRCD, and KVP pins would work.

I haven't shot many matches with my current AR9 and have already encountered extractor problems and gas key screws getting sheared off.

I'm looking for reliable BCG options that will let me enjoy shooting my PCC. What do you guys recommend?

I use the Surmount Defense ARC 9mm BCG. It has removable slug weight, AR style extractor, nitride coated, works with Glock, and Colt mags, works with most drop in triggers. https://surmount-defense.com/products/9mm-blowback-bcg

Freedom Munitions got me too last summer. In my CS Scorpion and also in my Glock!

It can happen in a pistol too... but far more likely in a blowback gun.

Yea it's just not worth it to me. I have enough brass that a hundred or so cases tossed doesn't bother me. Just makes it time consuming to pic them out

  6. I just mentioned that it works with Elftman,  and CMC because both have been tested. I also get a lot of questions about if they work with those two triggers more than any other. I'm not saying that other bcg's will or won't work with drop in triggers.

How do you know they will work with Elftmann triggers? Have you tested it with them? What makes it work with Elf or other drop in triggers, that other BCGs don't?

  7. I am currently setting up my 3Gun, and USPSA belt. I have decided to go with the DAA belt, and ELS 34/35 attachments. I will will be burning the holes in my belt to attach since that seems to be the best option for the ELS setup. My only issue is finding a mag pouch that will work with the ELS. I purchased 2 Blade Tech mag pouches with the Tech Lok system, but I can't for the life of me figure out how I will attach the ELS to them without redrilling new holes. I certainly don't mind drilling holes, but think that the slotted post or screws would interfere with the mags on the inside. Has anyone used this setup, or know of a mag pouch that works with ELS besides Safariland?

  8. I think our biggest complaint was on Stage 1 you couldn't expose your left foot to the targets at P2. Stage 3 the SO said I don't care about P2 while you are shooting from P1. Then on Stage 4 the SO said don't expose yourself to targets at P2. We had a 15 min delay while one of the top shooters questioned the consistency. Wasn't a big deal for me, but I agree about the movers. Would have been nice to see a few more movers.

  9. YOu guys see the stages? What do you think? The stage designs leave some questions for sure.

Sorry haven't been on this site in a while. Yea I noticed some of the stages changed from how they posted. The V Drill ended up changing to Mozambique's. without going in to great detail there was a lot of questions asked from a few top shooters in my squad about cover on stages 1,3&4. All in all it was a good match. I ended up 10th in SSP/SS due to my brain not working with my trigger finger on the theater stage. That pretty much costed me a top 5. Oh well we all live, and learn.

  10. Stages are pretty self explanatory. A stage can contain 1 COF, or multiple SOF. Our 4th Saturday local match had 2 stages with multiple strings of fire. The first stage was 2 SOF consisting of 6 rounds per string. The second stage had 3 SOF with 6 rounds in each string for 18rnds. Each SOF will have its own audable start, and time ends with last shot on that string.

  11. ^^^ This. Perform a Tac reload, and store on your way to the next position. In reference to shooting from extended cover. I shot a match last week. From P3 I couldn't see the 2nd target (middle target) due to the NT in my way. I'm not very tall at 5' 8". I had to take a big slide step out of P2, and could slice the pie with ease without any chance of hitting the NT. This also saves time from moving to P3. This forced me to take three 20-23 yrd shots vs 7- 10yrd shots, but saved time with -0 on those targets.

  12. Anyone here going to Bristol for the 2016 VA state match 6/24-6/25? I will be there for my first one, and look forward to it. Sounds like they put on a pretty good match. We will be driving up from NE Georgia Friday morning.

How do you haul your gear? Cart, stroller, ect? There is a BIG HUGE hill that depending on what squad you get assigned to you might have to go up it twice. It's what made me switch from a cart to a stroller. Bring a chair because its a long day but a good day. I missed last year and will miss this year due to prior engagements but its always a good match wtih great workers.

I use a cart. Do you have an idea what squad #'s usually have to make the climb twice? I am on Squad 5. I'm glad you said something about chairs. All the ranges here in Ga, Al, & Sc have benches to sit in under those metal car ports. I didn't know if they had seats or not.

  13. I work outside as a lineman. My work location is very rural with lots of fields, and farm land in East Ga. We often have highs 90-95* with humidity around 80-90%. Unfortunately my work clothes are not at all cool, and many days I spend 8-10hrs climbing poles out in pastures with no shade around. Twice in 17yrs I have experienced heat exhaustion. Once you have it once, it will come on quicker the next time. The key is to stay hydrated. I drink mainly water, but do add a Gatorade twice during my work day. On average I drink 1.5 - 2 gallons of water per day.

Both times I experienced heat exhaustion, I was drinking water but not enough to keep pace with my sweating. I try to drink two 20oz bottles of water per stage when shooting. I also mix in a Gatorade, and eat something light like a granola bar, or jerky. At big matches I try to stay away from the provided lunches since most in the south are BBQ, or dogs & burgers. I will usually eat non salted oven baked almonds, and lots of fruit. This is pretty much my daily lunch at work during the summer. Today I had Almonds, banana, apple, and a bowl of watermelon, and cantaloupe.
