Started doing case prep on my Dillon 650 for .233 and was going okay but then broke two decapping pins does the adjustment of the decapping assembly effect this? I thought I just needed to screw it down enough to punch the primer out. If that’s not it any other ideas why this would happen?
it’s a Dillon full length resize die FYI

Yes if you run across berdan primed brass.

  2. Mr brian,i hope that you did not take my response as trying to get someone to buy reloading supplies.I thought that you were inquiring as if you were wanting military brass decrimped, and i was just giving a lead.If im mistaking,or havent seen on your site where you provide that service. If you want the name i was referring to earlier, let me know, and ill be glad to give it to you,as im certain you probablly know him,hes been reloading and shooting since the age of 13,and now in his mid 60's,and some years ago,had an ammo factory up north.Someone has emailed me,and led me to believe that i may have offended you,if so i am truly sorry.

Will you be loading any military (crimped primer pockets) brass for the 223?

  3. Mr Ghost Dog,im not sure if your looking for military ammo to be reloaded, and what the regs are on shipping, but ive got a friend here in Texas, that has a reloading factory, and can reload those, and also specializes in 50 cal. also.Hes been reloading many years, and my go to guy for questions,as hes been reloading many years, and very good friends with Mike Dillon,Rick with Mr Bullet feeder, and many of the heavy hitters and major suppliers. He also buys in incrediable bulk to give you the best deal.

  4. I know i sent mine off to Dillon and they virtually replaced everything on it. There was a copy of almost 3 pages worth of parts, just for the cost of shipping.

Nope not under water that I know of - suprisingly it came apart very easily. The rust is just the humidity in Mississippi - itll do that to anything....hell I think it can cause plastic to rust. Dillon said 3 weeks - they got it last Thursday - the countdown is on!!!

  5. Used is quiet alright with me because,Dillon will warranty or replace any defective parts,no matter if your the first buyer or the 14th buyer.also if it falls off a truck and breaks, theyll replace it.it doesnt matter how its broken, or whos fault it is,theyll warranty it.The folks here on Brian enos, however has some of the best customer service that i have ever encountered.

  6. The RL-1000 is an awesome and unparrelled machine.Idont personally have one, however my mentor has quiet a few that hes had for a number of years from when he use to have a reloading factory.he said parts dont break that often, but you need to google and buy extra parts as you can find them, just in case you ever break down, but he likes his RL-1000's more than his super 1050's

  7. Did the kit have the 9mm conversion kit, i know some kits do and some dont with the press.

To Mr. Enos and the Forum members,

First time poster, but I have read and re-read the data posted in these fora and on Mr. Enos's website. First the kudos. Much obliged to Mr. Enos for taking the time and energy to organize and put such a large amount of information about the Dillon press on the web for reloaders. And to Dillon themselvers....I spent a significant amount of time with them at SHOT show 2010 asking questions and they were very gracious in demonstrating the 550b. So effective that I decided to purchase a press and do so via this site.

    Now to my question.

Background: I am not new to reloading and have a decent set of gear (scales, calipers, dies etc), but have decided to upgrade to allow me to shoot more for the same nickel. Dad always told me to buy the best in optics and reloading and I wouldn't be disappointed....thus a Dillon. So I am concentrating on two calibers (9mm and 45 ACP) initially, and over time will expand to 30 carbine, 5.56mm, 45 Colt and .30-06. But realistically, finances are a factor and per Mr. Enos's note....there are birthdays and Christmas with which to expand my inventory of Dillon products such as spare parts kits etc.

Question: Is the following list of gear complete for reloading 9mm and 45 ACP? Am I missing anything major? I don't mind taking a bit of time to change the powder measure etc. Thank you forum members again for your counsel and to Mr. Enos.

  9. The one good thing that i like about reloading is,that you can adjust your charges ect,and quiet often it makes a difference in the groupings when shot.

    Pencil it out.

You know best your round count, value of your time, and cost of local factory ammo vs. reloads. There are alot of factors that are based on what you can get, local price, etc.
