  1. Your check was not cashed, you were not out any money it was returned to you, yet you feel the need to bitch because it was returned to the address the check came from? You must really like to bitch about things.

I just got mine today. It was returned to the address on the check (business), not the address I put on the app (home). Even though the address was obviously copied from the check, it was misspelled.

  2. Yes, we are very grateful to both.

Match refunds and checks were sent out as promised. If your check was not cashed it was mailed back to you. If you were due a refund, it was processed through the match's bill payment service through the bank. Many of you are wondering what took so long, well I can explain it. Because we were in the middle match preparations when it was determined that the match could not be held, which created a deficit. So we worked with the match's title sponsor Adams Arms and Ken Flood with the US Amateur match to provide everyone options. At the time the match was cancelled I could have sent the checks back immediately, however we were still working out details, and I felt if some received their money back and some didn't for a few weeks it was cause more panic. Right or wrong that was the decision that was made.

Essentially what I expected. Thank you to Ken Flood and Adam's Arms for helping to line things out.

  3. Please explain what posts i have put on FB, that would have led you to believe that you would not receive a refund?

Ok, I am pissed. I have kept my mouth shut and taken it at the match admins that refunds would be issued for this match. At this point, after people posting that Adams is sending product to make up for their refund, I am wondering where the F my money went. Typically I wouldnt be so angry about something like this, because I would assume that very important things are taking place, things that my couple of hindred bucks can take a back seat to. However, I have just one word that provides just enough insite to piss me off... Facebook. If you dont use it, it might blow your mind to see what certain people have posted over the past few weeks.

Stop making promises and send us our money. $20-60k is alot of money for someone to have just sitting in an account doing nothing.

  5. I would like to communicate that I am an admin, the Secretary, I am not a decision maker, but I can say the decision has been made to ensure everyone is refunded. In addition I would also like to say to the individuals who have emailed me stating that you will come to my home and resolve this face-to-face. Is that a threat? Really! What kind of man threatens a woman? What kind of man states that he will come to a woman's house uninvited? Well know that this woman owns many firearms and knows how to use them and has no problem defending herself.

  6. John, you have received numerous emails the last being on Aug27th. Do you need me to forward them to a different email address, other than the one you registered with?

    Misty;

I consider myself a friend of Kirks and wish him the best of luck. I could care less why the match was cancelled but my check was dated March 5th and I would like to get my refund. I look forward to receiving it "shortly". Thanks for the update.

  7. Thank you to all of you that are supporting Kirk. As for those of you that are demanding a reason why the match was cancelled it is none of your business. Kirk is an honest person, as i have seen him do things for people that was of no benefit to himself, which I highly doubt those jumping to conclusions would do. As I have stated before anyone who has requested a refund will receive one, and you will receive it shortly. There are many that have not responded to our notice(some that are on here stating that they have not received your refund, so I am assuming you are transferring to the new match). Good day

    Misty

  8. Wanted to let everyone know, that it is difficult for me to answer my phone during the business day as the nature of my work is mostly spent being on conference calls. So email is the best form of communication. If you replied to my email asking for which option you would like, I have received it. Everyone will get a refund if they have requested it, so no worries. All refunds will be processed on Aug 16th.

  9. The 2013 Adams Arms Ozark 3-Gun Championship will be held September 6th through the 8th 2013.

Adams Arms will once again be the title sponsor for the match. Adams Arms did a wonderful job last year supplying us with the best prize table we have ever had, and this year they are committed to making it even better, along with our other great sponsors. I would like to thank Adams Arms for their generosity and continued support of the match. We have all the great sponsors from previous years as well as many first time sponsors. A list of all sponsors will be published at a later date.

*Registration will begin on March 9th at 8PM central time on the match website www.forconquest.com. There will be 210 competitor slots in squads of 12. Each squad will shoot 4 stages Friday and Saturday and 1 stage on Sunday.

This year has been a tough one for gun enthusiasts, and this is one way we can continue to stand strong for our gun rights. This year’s match will feature some exciting new things with more details to come. Updates will be found here, on the website (www.forconquest.com), and Facebook(Ozark 3-Gun Championship), or you may contact the Match Admin Misty Sadler (816-678-2941) email: mistydesha@gmail.com or the Match Director Kirk Broyles (573-808-5001) kirk@forconquest.com.

    Misty. :)

  10. I am a witness, it was totally spur of the moment with no practice.

As a newcomer to 3 gun, I enjoyed gamming stages like stage 7. If I want to not think and just pull the trigger, I will go back to highpower shooting. Isn't the idea of this shooting sport doing what you have to do inside the rules that are set forth to finish with the quickest time?

I had a blast at this match, like most all of the 3 gun matches I have shot.

Great stages, unlike any I have experienced so far!

    /

I am interested in hearing the legal technique for the slug swing stage though. Wondering if you could put your feet down between shots? Thought about it after and can't remeber what the walk through said, I just sat down with my feet on the swing and shot but if I would have asked about putting my feet down in between to stabalize I would have done that. Mind games you say...

I too would like to hear this. Squad 5 was told we could NOT touch the ground with after we fired our first slug shot.

One MAJOR problem with stage 7 was that although the platform was included in the stage diagram, the rules specific to the platform were not mentioned in the written stage briefing. When I hear things like 'legal way to shoot it and minimize the swing' that make the shots basically the same difficulty as off-hand shots, my first thought is what was another squad allowed to do that we were not. Concise and consistent stage descriptions are crucial, especially on a stage like 7.

Except for 7, the stages were fun, and the prize table was good. I'll be back next year. Thanks to the RO's and match staff for the hard work.

When I shot it I did not touch the ground between shots or the Frame and chains. I sat in the middle left of the platform evenly distributing my weight on the chains and placing my shotgun near center. I sat on my knees and raised as high as I could under the frame. Have you ever tried to push a swing from the top? After it settled down from getting on it never moved again. Therefore all I had to do was shoot a 10" target at 55 yards. I took 10 shots but hit them all. When I say more mental han gamey I meant that simple physics in the understanding of how the swing works. I'm not trying to say anyone is ignorant. Just telling you my thought process.

Say's the guy who hit the 400+yard target FIRST shot with an RO's G17? , and the flashers across the lake with a pistol as well. :surprise:

Kirk , THANKS for a GREAT match, it's ALWAYS a pleasure working with you!

You don't suppose knowing he had to do that in the match he practiced that do you?

I don't shoot my own match for score or prize table. So no I didn't practice it.

  11. Thank you Jesse.

This years match more than made up for the issues we saw last year. It was very evident that Kirk, Misty, the RO's and other staff were putting it all in to make this one a winner and it was.

The prize table was BIG. The number of complete long guns was around 20-25 between all 5 tables. There were several complete uppers. Stacks of upper/lower sets and stripped lowers.

IMHO This match has put itself back on the MUST shoot list in a big way.

    Great job everyone!!!

  12. Great explaination, Larry. Thank you for all of your hard work.

Fastest times on Stage 7 were posted by people who actually shot the slug targets. James Cassenova was the fastest at 42.06 if I remember right, with one 10 second penalty for a plate miss (32.06 raw time). Andrew S (forget the rest of the name) was 42.75 (open) with no misses. West Chandler was 43 seconds, don't remember if he hit them all or missed one. Jerry shot 6 quick ones and was 84 with penalties. The "quick six" folks didn't win, but they didn't shoot horribly either. Most of the good shooters came off the pistol at 20 seconds or just under, I'd check between them dumping the pistol and picking up the shotgun. Only way you stop that is to make a rule that either all targets will be down or time runs out. I understand SOF used to do it that way. The 10 second penalty is standard. USPSA scoring is "eash miss will be penalized twice the value of the maximum scoring hit available on that target..." (9.4.4). Maximum value is 5 so twice that is 10. Outlaw matches use one alpha or two anywhere, so a non-neutralized target gets the 10 seconds. Great bunch of shooters, Nicholas Webb (?) reshot stage 7 on Sunday after his time was challenged on Friday. Somehow our timer didn't pick up a couple of shots. He volunteered to do that, just because he didn't want to be seen as taking advantage. He had someone taping, watched it and timed it, said it did take longer. THAT'S sportsmanship. He could have taken the time and run with it. Don't understand, I watched the timer carefully after that and the darn thing was picking up shell ejecting, how it missed those shots, I don't understand. Incidentally, for as horrible as the front side of those cars looked, the back side had very few holes, even around the trunk area.

  13. Final squad list.

I am so excited as we are down to the final days until the match is finally here, I am looking forward to meeting each of you and hope that you have an awesome experience this year at the Ozark 3-Gun Championship, with our feature sponsor Adams Arms, and many other generous sponsors. 4. I have saved the best for last, on Friday and Saturday night, the final shot will be held at the match lake (near stage 2) at 6pm, This will be an event that you do not want to miss, we will have tannerite jars and exploding targets, if you witnessed last years final shot, you will be even more amazed this year and if you have never witnessed this, it will be something you don't want to miss.

As always, if you have any questions feel free to contact me, or visit the match website for details. www.forconquest.com See at the match!!!
