  1. Info from Dave @ Precision Bullets..........................

    Darren,

We don't recommend our bullets for open guns. When the bullet passes through the comp and the gases are diverted it cuts through the base and leads the comp.Stick with JHP's for your open gun.

I guess no black bullets for open..................

  2. Hey Guys,

ORSA Practical Shooters in Oak Ridge, TN will be having a special classifier match on March 19. Here are some additional details about the upcoming match .

    1. Since we usually try not to start squads on the classifier, we will offer everybody a quick "warmup" shoot on the steel challenge targets on Bay 1 or Bay 2.

You will be offered 2 5-round shoots, period. This warmup will be offered between 0930 and 0950 ONLY so that squadding and announcements can be performed as usual. Prior to the 2nd gun, we will also offer the warmup. Fees wil be $20.00 for 1 gun and $25.00 for 2 guns.

    2. The list of classifiers is:

    CM 03-03 Take em Down

    CM 99-62 Bang and Clang

    CM 03-12 Ironsides

    CM 03-09 On the Move

    3. In addition we will shoot a couple of steel challenge stages in Bays 1 and 2 and a field course in Bay 7.

    4. Only the classifier stages will be shot for the 2nd gun shoot.

    Hope to see you there!

  3. STI tube, internals and pad by Grams, tuning by Bob @ Brazos. It so far has been 100% reliable with 29 rds. Bob does not recomend 29 rds all the time as it adds more pressure on the mag release which in turn can cause the grip to crack.

  4. TDean,

Sorry ,I should have explained a little better. If you hold a Glock recoil spring in front of you, the "flat winds" are vertical. On the Rhea trigger I was sent, the "flat winds" on the striker spring are horizontal. I remember reading an article one time about "dremeling the glock" and he talked about putting the recoil spring in a 1/2 in. drill and spinning while holding an abrasive to it. Maybe this is what has been done to my striker spring? I know there is no problem with the ammo, I tried the Vanek set-up in my gun with 0 light strikes and the Vanek is ALOT lighter and smoother. I did try his trigger and my striker and spring..............doubles and triples, but boy howdy was it fun! good hits too!

  5. Detlef

I use small rifle for 40 since I primarily load super....easier to stock one primer.

    Flexmoney

Nothing broke on the gun. My trigger pops SR no problem. Took the Vanek setup out of a friends gun and had NO trouble at all with SR. As far as Rhea's striker spring, I have no idea.......the spring is flat like a Glock recoil spring.

  6. Shot my first match today with the Rhea gun unlimited trigger. The first stage was 26 rounds......................14 light strikes with Federal small rifle primers. I don't get it, Vanek triggers @ 1.5 lbs will set off Federal small rifle primers all day long. 2.3 lb Rhea trigger and can't even get through one stage. And yes, the firing pin tunnel was cleaned prior to installation. My homebrew trigger job @ 2.8 lbs will pop small rifle no problem. Anybody got any ideas?

  7. Hey guys,

Did I read that post right that Caspian would be producing 40 mags in the spring?

I wonder if they will be a new design or just a upgrade so to speak of the old ones. If someone can get 20 rds in 40 for a Caspian, that would be the cat's _ss!

  8. Bob,

    How about.................

    1. Comp design and barrel length as it relates to the burn rate of fast and slow powders.

    2. Step by step in fitting ambi thumb safeties.

    3. How to check the effieciency of a comp.

    4. Homebrew trigger job without actually screwing up the existing parts.

  9. Hey Guys,

I know this has probably been beat to death, but I couldn't find what I wanted to know under search. Moly coated bullets in a factory Glock barrel........Is it a no-no? Some say absolutely not, others have talked about shooting thousands of rds. of lead through Glock bbls. with no problems. Of course all that I have read on the subject has been over on GT.com. What do you think about Titegroup and Precision moly 200 in 40 cal for major? Is it too fast for the bullet wt.?,the barrel?

Any experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
