I have a couple of "bay" guns for 3/2 gun or carbine matches. Either 12-14" barrels with carbon fiber hg and stocks work well for me. Also, a dot out to 200 is not a big deal if the need arises.

If it breaks around 2lbs its probably the Genesis. If it's a little heavier. 21/2 to 3ish, its probably an Elite.

I have a full size 38 super for sale cheap if you change your mind. Tommy Guns put a new top end on it last year. only abot 500 rounds on the new top end.

[Rebarrel open gun or switch divisions?]

My 9 open is louder than my 38, or at least I think it is. Powder charge for both is about the same but folks tell me the 9 is worse.

Rowdy- Come on over to 3 gun! I went thru the same a few years back. IDPA last straw for me was 2015 Nattys when the infamous "circles of extended cover" were marked on the ground, but they weren't "fault lines". Needless to say pretty good cuss fights most of both days on that stage. I enjoyed USPSA to start with but that was about the time the drama started a few years ago. I let my membership expire in 2022 and will not renew it again. Enter 3 gun 2015 or 2016, the most fun I ever had shooting. Great group of people and very little to no drama. So, moral of this story? Happy as can be, but broke 3 times over. cheers

If an RO challenges a shooter for an optic plate being a bit too wide, The RO should be yanked.

Hit factor is just another way of running an unsanctioned match. USPSA is a sinking ship. All clubs need to cut ties with them and not go back until they start with a clean slate. When folks start getting tossed for offering their opinion, things need to change. USPSA has forgotten that all they are doing is selling entertainment.

I have used AA7, SWMP and Power PIstol. Power Pistol maxed out right at 164/165 and would get and faster. AA7 and SWMP has about the same for me, (9.5-10gr) and both perform the same. SW is less expensive so it won.

Precision Delta 124's v1 are my go to bullets. Also, everything I have shot in past 10 years in my 9's or 38's have been 355

Another option is the Clark Custom 10/22. Everybody has a couple of 10/22'slaying around. Sent one of mine off to them and came back with an amazing shooter. With SK yellow box, it will shoot 1 ragged hole at 50 and still touching at 100.

I have shot a lot of Atlanta Arms in 38 super. Great stuff, makes about 171+/- out of my full size gun. I have chrono'ed AA and the FPS were very consistent. As far as powder and making gas, I love AA7. Somewhere between 9.5-10 grs, mine makes more gas than a can of pork and beans.

I had Tommy Guns USA build a 9 shorty specifically for 3 gun. It is great for running and gunning and easy to maneuver.

Their customer service is great. Give them a call.  As far as the op issues, that's two different problems. I assume you are using their tuned mags, if not, that's part of the problem. If they are tuned, I would get them to have a look at it. The light primer strikes probably can be fixed with changing the hammer spring to a "heavy" spring.
