Has anyone seen these caddies? They look a lot like the Taccom MG's....the dates on the video have me confused though.
Of course, these don't cover the primer directly...seems like a safer design....anybody tried these ?

I've never tried the mag over the top thing but, I do have two 20 rounders coupled together with ranger plates on them. You can lean into the rifle and really clamp down on the forearm. Just my .02.

Or you could always just pull the trigger with your strong hand index finger or thumb, then rack the bolt.

There seems to be some disparity amongst the Versamax's regarding a similar issue. I have gone about fixing this a few ways.
1. If you have taken the inner spring out of the shell latch, put it back in. Removing it doesn't help a thing. But, it can hender the shell latch from working properly.
2. Lightly polish the shell latch plate (shell release) in the area where it contacts the shell latch, I've trimmed a little off of the thickness of it before and given it a good polish.
There is a ton of deflection in that system and adding higher spring pressure with extended tube and rounds only exacerbates the problem.

Yea the primers are as flat as I can get them...tried that first before making a fool of myself on here. I'll see of there is an extra power spring available.

Hey Guys, recently I purchased a couple K CCI small pistol primers...500's I think . Every 4-5 out of 20 I'm getting failure to ignite. I'm using an XDM 5.25 with a Springer trigger kit. It runs factory ammo like a top. Not sure If I've got some bad primers or just selected the wrong ones. Any help is appreciated!!

Hi viz makes a screw down unit that works good.I have champion easy hit on my vmax! Its a stick on with 3M adhesive but it has never failed me. The end of the fiber is shrouded so unless you have your head tucked tight against the gun you can't see the entire diameter of the rod.

Benelli is a fine option but, you will have to run some 1300fps + loads to get that rig to cycle properly with a heavy xrail on it coupled with an inertia system. Just FYI... 1200fps 1oz slugs are a minimum. Unless someone out there has a better setup that will share info about it ...

Man these are hard lessons at a match...not that you needed a lesson in loading your gun by any means. Just lessons about dealing with the man in charge. The only true way to get our point across is to just not attend anymore matches at this club or maybe you can request to be ran by another RO. IDK but, either way I would figure something out. Sounds like the RO was a little "green" so to speak. As everyone else has stated, you will definitely know when you blast a knockdown plate or any other piece of steel with a slug from 5' away. Its a wonder you guys didn't catch a little frag!! Hell a Mod choke will nearly blast those small square knockdowns 10-15 yds away...hit one of those with a slug and it will end up in another bay !!

To the OP... I would start with the base sportsman model ... 26" and go from there... Are you thinking xrail or the long tube and speed chute option ?

I'm just pleased that the OP was happy with the work we performed on his gun. First A5 we've done and the speculation from the internet was that with an extended "welded" lifter that the auto load function could possibly be compromised. I didn't really see how but, I welded it up and polished it nonetheless. As you can tell it works flawlessly. The trigger system is similar to that of an FNH slp , considering all the similarities and heritage that these guns come from. So the trigger on these guns can be made excellent! Bolt lightening is always a subject of controversy but, there is something to be said for removing at least 2 oz off of any reciprocating mass especially one that moves as fast as these guns do. If someone could couple the light recoil of a vmax with the longevity of an M2 and the trigger and auto load function of the A5 you'd definitely have a true game changer !! I know ... Everybody has said it too much .... GAME CHANGER!! Lmao !! And yes part of this build was funded by a certificate pulled from the benelli match. I believe in giving back to the sport I love .. I'm not the best shooter out there ... Ask anyone !! Lmao! But I love building guns and watching people that are better shooters than me making them sing !! Enjoy the debate fellas !!!

The only loading technique I have have used is the load two and quad method. I started out with an otto vest and ended up with IP caddies. I have never pulled shells from any other caddies on the market. Why you ask? There's no need to, the IP caddies regardless of what version you get are the best thing going and the best overall value per shell retained. I'm a big boy and have gone prone with a 10D and 2.8's, I've never broken a clip due to that. I'm not on here to bash anyone elses product or be a "fan boy" like some others have said. I've known KP for a few years now and he's the best in the business when it comes to customer service! That says a lot in our sport. He's a shooter who I've seen evolve his kit more times that I can tell you in search of the perfect combination, always open to suggestions and he'll build you a "custom whatever you want". LOL!!

The Long holster hanger is what I use.. works great and you don't have to worry about it breaking or moving around on you once it's locked down. Excellent piece of kit and an awesome company. Kevin is/has always been dedicated to customer service since day one!! You won't find any "Gimmick" products from IP...Fo Sho!!

Me and a couple guys have noticed that with the Vmax you have to really choke down on it so it will cycle the 980fps stuff. If you don't put man hands on it you run the risk of FTE.. Lol!! Just my .02 from what I've seen.

Any of IP's quad design carriers can be use for a load two technique... The 2.8 or any of the 12Q lineups... I quad and load two out of both carriers. No issues whatsoever....

So I've decided to make a change in my shotgun loading setup this year. I've moved back to dropping deuces as some might say, instead of quad loading...mainly due to lack of practice time. What I've setup here is a very decent and easy to use load two method from Invictus Practical... one 10D, a 2.6 and a RQ12... nice tight and easy to access. There are so many options out there these days...my advice to new shooters and seasoned alike...keep it simple, especially if you don't have extra practice time!
