  1. NOT at all an expert, but I'll throw my two cents in. My guess is that you will want a flip to the side magnifier. In that case, you will not need the magnifier out to 100 yards. The eotech 1moa dot is solid to 100, in my experience. Under magnification, I would suggest two dots and then using the bottom of the circle as a third aiming point. My .02.

  2. Thanks for all the feedback guys.

I might give it a try. There is a combo featuring the scope, the small red dot fast fire and the mount for a fair price.

I'm still wondering if I go to the scope only option on the rifle, or if I get the scope and an additional sight.

two sets of optics will put you in a different class. Personally I think the fastfire on teh mtac is overkill. You could get some side mount flp ups for close range stuff.

  3. Seems the reticle is geared towards nato ss109 ammo. 62 gr at 2800 fps. To use this spr reticle like it's intended, i'm curious what would be the best way to load or factory ammo for 3 gun? I'd like to load the sierra 69 hpbt with H335 at around 2800 fps. Will this let me use the drop hash marks the same as intended with the ss109 ammo?

I just want to be able to use the reticle for hold over etc with the hash marks.

    Any advice would be great

What distances are we talking? Inside of 300?

  4. I had already tripled the "wedge" of the cast shim and moved the stock over so far that it's tough to get a thinwall socket on the nut that holds the stock to the action spring tube. Still needed to go about 6" right. Jerry M told me to hit it a couple of inches in front of the ring that fits over the mag tube. Couple of light taps, reassemble, take it to the range and pattern. I was prepared to do it again, at the range but didn't need to. It's an old method that's been used for years. Most shooters need some cast to the stock, bending barrel accomplishes the same thing without cutting or bending and then refinishing the stock.

    Intriguing

  5. Ordered 2K of 5.56 reloads this a.m. from company that supplies SO. $300 per K for 55gr and $310 for 62 gr. Last buy is was all LC brass. It was a one time buy.. So don't ask from who.
