Hey guys, I think that I would like to try this, but more for hunting purposes. What red dot are guys like Jerry Miculek using? I only ask, because I would think that they would be fairly durable. Also, what type of mount are they using to get the sight to fit properly with a scope? Thanks for the help guys. 9080 Out

Hey guys, I am trying to get some stuff together for an upper build, and need some input, ideas, and help on it. What I want to build is this: I want a real utility build, just a very simple clean varmit/3 gun style build. I want it lightweight, and fast. All I am going to use it for is hunting, and general shooting. I want it to be a decent build, but dont want to pour a ton of cash in it. Here is what I have in mind: Green Mountain M4 barrel, 1/7 - 130.00 Palmetto upper, 100.00 Spikes BCG - 110.00 YHM gas block - 25.00 YHM 12'' tubular handguard - 60.00 Grand total = 425.00 Problems: Light mount, sling mount. As for one of the only problems that I have, is it possible to mount a small 2'' rail on the 9 o'clock? How would you guys go about doing this? I want to do this for a light. Not for tactical purposes, but for night hunting. I would rather not have to go get a Troy tube, or the like. I have guns that are built more for tac use, and that isn't what I am trying to do here. The other problem is a sling attachment. Ideas on mounting that? I am sure that I am not the only guy that ever built this. I am also up for suggestions for other parts that are like in performance, and price. Thanks guys for the help, 9080

I am looking at the Nikon M223 scope. I am wanting it for just sort of an "all around" type optic. Does anybody have any firsthand experience with them? How durable are they? Any problems? Thanks in advance guys, I appreciate it! 9080

I have bought a Sun Devil slickside upper from a guy on the EE of another site. I would assume that these do not have M4 cuts, correct? I was going to go with a 20" Gov. profile barrel for this. Would there be any problems on that? What if I decide to go with an M4 barrel? Is it ok to go with a barrel that does? One last thing, how big of a pain the ass is the lack of a deflector be? Hey guys, new to this site, but have lurked for a while. I have only owned AR's for about 3 years now, but am as sick as my wallet will allow. for some strange reason I have the "need" for an mrds. However, I am a bit confused. I know nothing about the CMores, or the Leupolds, or Insight's. I know a little about the Triji's. What about the Burris FF2? What are more people here using? I was going to get one for a 1:00 sight, but I see that some people are even using them as a primary. I am leaning toward the Burris, but is a good sight? Somebody please straighten me out on these.
