  1. I just placed an order for a new XDm 5.25 from Springer Precision.

2.5# trigger job, Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight, grip stippling and an IDPA legal extended mag release button. I can't wait to get this rascal.

    Great customer service

    Paul

I have no doubt you will love it! Congrats!

I just picked it up from my FFL . Absolutely, without a doubt, the best trigger job I have ever felt on any polymer pistol and better than most custom 1911 trigger jobs. Un- freakin'-believable. :goof: Stippling looks first class and feels great.

I'm taking it to the range after work.

    Kudos to Springer Precision.

I had the same reaction when mine came back!!! :surprise::bow::cheers:

  2. The best value is Winchester WWB (walmart white box) bulk 100 packs..I'm not sure it's the "best" but it's an option, I've never had a problem with quality.

It's easy and convienient to get..your mileage may vary. I started out using this, and have since switched to 147 gr. handloads..when I run out of the handloads

    I just buy some WWB.

  3. Man... I cant believe the amount of trash talk within the team itself this early on! Michael seem to point the finger a lot yet fly under the radar.. I thought Colby said that Michael went "one for five again", which would have give him two... Haha 5 or 6 my bottom... IMO his hand should have been the first in the air...

Either way, fantastic shooting Cliff!! Keep on keepin on!!

I heard the same thing ...one for 5 again..IMO he can't be voted off soon enough. ;)

  4. It was a custom Salent arms international Glock $2500.

I knew it was some kind of race gun and not a stock G34 which I suspect contributed to Drew's problems. No slight to defensive pistol instructors intended, but they are not going to be able to deal with a competition trigger as well as a competition shooter can.

But it's also worth noting that those looked to be some rather small plates to be shooting in rapid succession which likely also didn't help Drew. What distance was that?

Lastly, the red teams shotgun expert was quick to point out that he didn't do any worse than anyone else on the team. Well, sorry guy, you're the expert and you're expected to do BETTER than everyone else on your team. HE should have been the first one into the elimination challenge.

P.S. I noticed that the "camp counselor" cleaned everyones clocks - 5 out of 5 on his first at bat! That's a guy to watch out for.

I'm not ashamed to say that I'm not impressed with Michael at all...the red head. Lot's of talk, with nothing demonstrated thus far to back up his drivel. If I remember correctly he missed with the S&W pistol in the first show too.

  6. I may have to withdraw from the race..I had a mountain bike accident Thursday, broke my strong hand arm/wrist. I just knew this match this coming Sunday would be the one to push me into B! That's the breaks. Good shooting everyone!

    cheers.gif

  7. They did a very nice trigger job, action job, and sight install etc on my XDM 9 production gun. I am extremely pleased and would recommend them to everyone. I am going to purchase a roll pin starter punch from them soon. Now it comes standard with their punch set, but I purchased my set before that :(

I sent mine in with a wonky striker pin..I didn't mention it..but it came back with a new one in it!

Here we are for another month. I removed myself from the Production race because I wont be shooting that in the near future. I also removed a few that moved up to B, CONGRATS ALL, and added Standby! to the race. If anyone want to join, I will update on the 20th, after that, you will have to wait for next months update.

Thanks for including me! Shooting this Sunday...but have to wait til 9/15 for an update! surprise.gifcheers.gif

  9. Just wanted throw out a plug for Springer Precision, I sent them my XD 9 Tac for some trigger work, and stippling. The trigger came back a different trigger..in a good way! No more excessive pre-travel and the post travel is non existent. The reset has improved tremendously as well. The stippling job is top shelf as well...I sent them a mess, and they pulled it off... with flying colors. I would not hesitate to use Springer precision again. The pistol was completed in a timely manner, and I was given exactly what I asked for. What more could I ask for?

    Two thumbs way up!!

    cheers.gif

  10. May I join in? I just started... a few months ago..I just recently got my classification (today) after my 5th match ever.

    A73172 Production C Class

I do at least one match a month that counts..so it may take a while for me.

  11. I don't know if it is any kind of record, it is my best but. It was just practice, and using a timer picking up sound, not adding flight time like the real match. But for some reason I just couldn't miss today. Was funny because I was shooting with my physical terrorist Chad Reilly, and he couldn't go that fast and was getting angry, so I got that going for me, which is nice....

    Rob

    A little payback? roflol.gif

  12. Rob,

Would like to get one but they are a little hard-to-find right now. SA needs to flood the market with them!!!

We have black in stock, bitone are only showing up one at a time to our distributor and we have grabbed every one they have listed in stock so far.

Christine at Springer Precision was kind enough to inform me that a Bi-tone was inbound. Naturally, I snapped it right up. I ordered the 3.25lbs. competition trigger, extended mag release, .100 Dawson front sight and a new tungsten insert for the stock guide rod. I was informed that this insert will bring the total pistol weight close to the Production legal limit. Rob, would you be so kind as to provide the weight of the guide rod spring in your 5.25? I was thinking of using a lighter 16lbs. spring

My current Competition XDM was customized by Rich at Canyon Creek and has served me exceptionally well for nearly 3 years. Given the exceptional comments herein and from other online sources - concerning both the 5.25 and Springer Precision - I'm anticipating an outstanding product.

Rob, the 5.25 was a welcome surprise. Thank you for improving upon an already excellent product.

    Kindest regards,

    Greg

Congrats on the new 5.25!! I'm 110% sure you will love it!

  13. All I'm saying is even though you called a shot, it doesn't necessarily mean the shot ends up where your sights lifted.

    Hmmmm...

    I'll second that Hmmmm...

How can you know where the bullet landed it if didn't land where your sights lifted from?

I didn't ask that..I just stated that not all shots go where they are called. Especially under stress.. a perceived alpha can result in a charlie.

I have to let go of the notion that this is a precision game, everyone wants all alphas all the time, it's not possible especially given the

stage times the top shooters run. Who would intentionally call a charlie? Nobody.. especially scored minor, but the scorecard tells a different story.

Calling is not where you wanted it to go, it's where it really went. Nobody wants Charlies, but we want to see them with the sights when we shoot them.

Th eother thing you'll learn is that its just as fast to shoot an A as it is to hit anywhere else on the target, times have nothing to do with dropped shots at the upper levels, the level of precision we fired the shot is what matters and you can be every bit as precise at speed.

I meant at my current skill level..as far as times go. I witnessed a top 10 GM at the last match..impressive for sure..but I assumed better accuracy.

  14. Singlestack:

I have no desire to make major power factor in 9mm, only use it for steel. I have my 38SC for major PF USPSA. Shoot L10 with my 1911 custom 40S&W Colt and SS with my 1911 Springfield. I shoot steel, USPSA, & sometimes IDPA. I shoot for the fun of it and the comradery and don't really give a damn where my classifications are. At 66 years of age I'm glad I can still shoot and hope I can still shoot & continue reloading into my 70s'.

You already have (the majority anyway) the single action trigger..what else do you want?

    Keep on shooting

  15. I have serious lust..every time I go to the range or shoot a match I put one of those 5.25's (display model.. their shipment has not arrived yet) in my hand. I just started in the Production class, and feel it would be a wonderful production gun. Trouble is, I just bought my XD Tac a few months ago. I love the rear sight on the 5.25, it comes up from draw perfect every time.

Thanks for showcasing the 5.25 in your latest DOTM, I learned from that one! I appreciate you sharing your experience like that.

That's fantastic news about the knees! Now kick some ***!

    Jeff
