By the time you pay to have the Gen3 slide cut for Optics, you could probably buy a 34 (or 47) Gen5 and have an MOS-ready gun, PLUS the old gun to play Production/SSP/Limited games with.

Two guns are always better than one....

good food for thought, Thank you

  2. Have interest to purchase extended mag base pads for G20 mags Anyone know if SLRs are legal USPSA length? There sight doesn't mention what Mag oal would be using there base pad. Aredondo advertises legal length although Iv'e read people have had to sand off the stippling to get them to legal length, others said weren't successful

  3. Have interest to check out Berry's 185gr HBRN for Icore shooting minor power factor (thinking not pushing the limit in regard to complications) anyone run oal shorter to compensate for additional case capacity in respect to hollow base? Have WST, Hogdon clays, 700x. 625 has 5 in barrel. Thank ahead of time for feedback

  5. Yes,  ima45dv8 is correct regarding Dawson. I had contacted them and got the big negative. I have checked out the Carver, its nice magwell unfortunately there is raised flange area to get heal of hand purchase that I am looking for. Only one I have seen so far is SLR.  https://slrrifleworks.com/gen-3-g20-21-magwell/

Thought I would check around before purchasing SLR, It does look like could be good option. And thank you RePete

  6. First thank you all for input, recommendations, considerations, I appreciate it very much.

20 or so yrs ago I loaded 10mm to 178 PF using 200 gr RN, USPSA major was 175 at that time. I was shooting 45 acp frequently out of a 1911, Para (200 gr SWC), G21 gen2 (225 TC) and a S&W 625 230RN all around 178 PF. The semi autos were using reduce power springs including the G20. When shooting the G20 I was thinking this doesn't seem right, The G20 shot softer. I've wanting to get back to that project for quite some time. Allot of new stuff has came out since. If is better, smarter to do this project on a Gen 3 or newer I'm not wanting to waste time and money my Gen 2. If Gen 2 is good or has some benifit,  I,m happy to go with that! I had heard of a SF frame but didn't think of it and never had my hands on one. I've held a G40, that is Gen4 it felt good, My Gen 2 doesn't feel bad. Seems like I had heard (several years ago) the Gen 4 doesn't modify well or something to that nature. Again thank you all for the input.

  7. Glock G20 Gen2,3,4 for USPSA limited which Gen is best to work with. Was going to start this project over 20 yrs ago. I have a Gen2 G20. My thought is to work with trigger, Springs, mag well, thinking G kit skateboard tape if Gen 2 or 3. Not sure of other mods. Prefer to do this with the best Gen for this project. I'm not familiar with Gen 4 other than holding in the hand, it was a G19

  8. I have both firearms and a lot of brass. I have interest try my hand using downloaded 10 mil. About 20 years ago downloaded to old major power factor some ammo using 2nd gen G20 I have, power factor was about 178, it seemed softer shooting than my 45 in single stack, Para and G21.

Life has change and his looking like can participate somewhat regularly in the sport again. Came across a respectable deal the G40, it intrigued me so I bought it.

Shooting USPSA I have shot g 34, g 19 and g 21 along with several other firearms. My Glocks have all been pretty close to stock with exception to lighter recoil spring the g34. I'm thinking I may do greater modifications in this 10 mil venture. I don't think I would be doing frame modifications (probably would use skateboard tape the grip the Gen 2 G20), but I'm thinking of making a nice performing limited class Glock. Not sure which platform 2 work with? The old Gen 2 G20 or the Gen 4 G40? Not sure of what company to go with 4 parts. Thought I'd hit you guys up for feedback, been out of this for about 20 years.

  9. 2a sent shipping label oh, they should receive Monday afternoon. Initially adjusted to get lock back on empty mag. It never happened. After adjusting to maximum ejection performance that could get I looked at the lines on the valve oh, they were at 12 clock. Readjusted to 6 no ejection once I got to 10 I started getting ejection. When I got a little past 12 I lost ejection. Looking at one of their videos with the gas key off looks simple. Wondering if gas fort is smaller then normal.

  10. Anybody try one of these? Curious if anyone has had success using it. My recent build with gas Port fully open does not lock back on empty Mag, brass ejects lazily  at 5 o'clock. Installed another companies LW BCG brass ejects hard and goes forward 1 to 2 o'clock. Using JP SCS and wolf gold ammunition. Both of these lock back on empty mag using same mag

  11. Ooo I'm going  to contact paul@fm-products.com

I have a There FM-9 complete upper,  I have been happy with it. I think I would like it if lighter.  upon receiving it I had impression this might be a little heavier than I prefer. Its cool and  shoots well and does not move around much.. Have it mounted to a KE arms lower, It has a nice magwell. the magazines go in and come out well.

thank you KE arms for sponsoring the 2017 AZ state PCC championship.

How well are these holding up? I'm thinking of getting one after I sell off my scorpion. The evo is really nice, but I'm struggling with the ergos.

I have a complete upper purchased from PA that I have not put a round through. It feels and looks good. The forward side charging handle is forward of my grip. Its nice you are able to swap it R or L side. I have read some people have issue hitting hand/fingers on the mount of optics side chargers at upper receiver. I have hand cycled rounds through a few mags.  Only thing that given skepticism is unsure of comp then again it could be the best one on the market. If interested I,m  considering selling it. I won a receiver at a match

  13. Feedback, Would be great to get, giving much consideration the FM-9 complete upper. I have no experience with forward side charge handle firearms. (Is it slower or any  part of design advantageous or counter?) Also having consideration of bolt (if has plug, if so can it be removed?) I have limited experience in tuning. I have interest in giving consideration to different combinations of bolt, spring and buffer combinations but like most have limited resources. If the bolt that comes in the FM-9 limits you or is not a good base to work with and would need to replace it for better tuning that would be counter productive.Would much prefer not to have to do much to it, seems to be a great buy and looks like all made in USA  Originally was going to get sidecharge receiver (Spartan, Gibbz, etc) for my build of upper. Have experience with 1 PCC tune, pulled the plug out of a STD bolt and used JP Enhanced silent capture system and a load  that works with it well(frontier 121 and titegroup at 132 PF.
