Yes, that's a real problem, much like what can happen when using an ACOG.  And I've dealt with this at something even as simple as a Steel Challenge match.  Had shot 3 or 4 stages with the HS510c, when I got to the stage where we shot under cover out into the sun-lit target area.  Suddenly noticed my dot wasn't very visible.  Hadn't realized I was running in solar cell mode until then.  Had to switch over to battery just to make it work.

As long as you can switch between battery and solar, no big deal, but if you're limited to illumination based on where you're standing rather than where you're aiming, there can be an issue.

This is why I always leave mine on battery mode -- never solar. Shake awake works fine in this mode too fyi.

  2. I started in PCC when it first was a thing with a 16" gun and kinda hated it. Too much acrobatics to get it around walls, ports, whatever. So I recently SBR'ed the PCC and trimmed it down to an 11" barrel -- SBR efile took 11 days btw. Now it's a totally different gun. The recoil is slightly different but honestly not that much worse, and now I can actually move the gun around things without feeling like I'm swinging a longsword in a phonebooth. I'm a big fan of shorter PCC's now.

Initial observations: I like the reticle. It has 2 dots which almost illuminate with the same intensity (don't like), in addition, the reticle also illuminates … 2 dots and the lit-up reticle seems to take some of the intensity away (almost like a distraction) compared to a single dot or the open gun quickness, like the Razor or Swaro.  The illumination dial is on and off, no separate settings w/off in between settings, not a deal breaker but I kinda miss that option. Elevation/windage knobs are simple. Overall, it's a nice scope although in my opinion, it's not a 3gun specific scope.  Overall, good scope but in my opinion, a little over priced in comparison. Will have to field test it and see how it stands up to some abuse which some of the lighter scopes have been accused of not holding up as well.

    Any update since?

  4. Scores are up on practiscore.

It shows I zeroed Stage 8 Maze even though I didn't. Looks like it was incomplete in our nook or something? My paper backup shows the complete score but the results show 0.00? I shot on Friday and arbitration is long gone I guess but is there anything I can do?
Tell the stats to check DNF setting on all those missing scores. Someone might had thick-fingered those by accident.

Looks like they corrected it overnight. Thanks!

  5. I had a buddy of mine write a dryfire par timer app for me. It's called Par Timer and it is simply that with some nice little features like a random start and huge start/stop button. Just thought I would offer it in case you want something just for your dryfire times.

Have that buddy submit that app for App Store.

    Need more phone timer options!

    It's on there :)

  6. I don't wear any of that stuff when I dryfire. If you're thinking about that you're worrying about the wrong things imo. Let your body learn to deal with those changing conditions, the same way you'll have to adapt to different range surfaces, hunger levels, whatever. Stop trying to be a robot and be a shooter.
