  1. I have all the latest versions of Practiscore on two Kindle tablets and a master iPhone. We're running into an issue that sounds similar to #1 above. We can pull shooters to the Kindles all match, but as soon as we get to the end of the match we run into sync issues where one Kindle will not see the iPhone and the iPhone can't pull from that one Kindle. I don't know if this is network, device, or a software issue. Any thoughts on existing solutions to this problem?

    Thanks

  2. Android. Shooters are able to choose which stage to shoot when, no squads.

So the issue is getting shooters into the scoring tablet accurately. I've found if there's a misspelling I will get duplicates. Also, the flow of shooters is such that I don't have the ability to hop into the bays and sync the tablets so that all new shooters are on the scoring tablets.

  3. Does anyone have any recommendations for using Practiscore with a shoot & scoot format? Currently we're unable to score directly into the tablet due to the constant flow of shooter signing up while others are shooting. So we currently score on paper and then transfer that to the tablet. While the competitors are shooting a member of the staff is entering shooters into the tablet from multiple paper sign-in sheets.

Any ideas on how to make this more efficient would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  4. I can't speak for your hands and the XD, but often the problem you report is the result of improper or too much grip. Barring that however (and you might be surprised to hear that I had your same issue and it went away over time and without focused effort), don't sweat it unless you're shooting IDPA.

I play IDPA from time to time and it's a killer, I don't have another gun to use for that game and I think I'm more invested in USPSA right now.

How is it possible to have too much grip? I've never heard that one before.

  5. I currently have an issue that I don't know how to fix. I shoot a XD9 Tactical in production division, there are times when I make up shots, and due to that end up at slide lock. Problem is my slide doesn't lock back, there's something with my grip, what I think is happening is that my strong hand thumb rides the release. This causes me to not realize I'm dry so I waste a good two seconds dry firing before reloading. I know one solution is to simply count rounds, (an A class single stack shooter laughed when I made the counting rounds comment today at a match, don't know how to take that) but I was wondering if I should seriously start considering a different firearm. I'm not an XD die hard, it just happened to be the first gun I bought.

  6. Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it. I was throwing a lot of shots low left, most likely from slapping the trigger. I think when I get wound up and get that "I need to get quicker" feeling I just start putting as many rounds down range as possible.

Vid 3) Looks like to me your slapping the hell out of that trigger on your second shots. Again you got caught on a flat footed reload, and stage planning seemed a bit out of wack. It also seems you throw a lot of extra shots. When I shoot a stage the requires you to open a door or prop and you have to shoot through it, I try to make that my last shooting position. So maybe after you cleared the center portion hit your reload and get into that right corner engage the paper and swinger then go through the door. A lot of people might disagree with me, but since you have to break your grip in order to open the door this would be the time I would reload, its a un-natural movement IE going from door nob to belt to gun, but I would weigh it being faster and more productive then doing a unneeded flat footed reload.

As far as that swinger was concerned, the popper that activated it was through the door... So I had no choice but to take the door first. Being in production, I don't think it would have been wise to just skip the target, as it was not a disappearing target.

  7. Did the RO offer you a reshoot for interference?

Practice going into positions and finding one spot where you can shoot without moving your feet every couple of steps.

I didn't, but I don't recall him really being in the way. It might just look like that on the tape.

  8. I started off comfortable with my first stage (stage 3) then it was all down hill, mikes and forgetting to reload as well as fumbling. I'm now making an effort to practice more, beyond reloads, what do you see that I could improve? Thanks

Vids in order of stage completion.

  9. What is the difference between the $88 and the$178 that is on back order?

From what I gather the Marui guns are better quality, the pro Japanese shooters use them.

I'm guessing that an XD airsoft will never be made. What are people's thoughts on using the XDm airsoft as a trainer for the XD Tactical?

  10. Plastic drums used to conceal targets (drum downrange by target): you haven't stared death in the face until you put a slug into a drum and listened to it spin 'round and 'round INSIDE THE DRUM, NOT KNOWING WHERE OR WHEN IT WILL BURST THROUGH THE SIDE OF THE DRUM (and I've SEEN them come out and I've been LUCKY!!) DON'T DO IT!!!!

As to barrels, I've seen the spinning bullets and at least two people I know have been hit with them when they came out and have said that there is so little energy in them when they exit that they are virtually harmless.

I was curious on the comment about the barrels. At my club a few stages are almost exclusively set up with barrels. We hear the zings regularly.

So how dangerous are barrels really?

  11. I'm new too, here's what I did:

    1. Condor Outdoor double bag

    2. Blade Tech AR mag pouches with tek-lok

    3. California Competition Works 6 shell caddy

This set me up just find for an IDPA multi-gun match. My friend made one of those jogger 3gun carts. I will be doing the same shortly as hauling bags is not fun.

  12. Ok, one month later, I am down 20 lbs., my % body and visceral fat is down and have not lost muscle. I am down about 7 inches (neck, arm, thigh, chest, waist, hips).

    Nice job Gene!

I'm now almost 3 months in. I've lost 30 lbs and 2 pant sizes. Just today I sold my CR Speed belt because it didn't fit :surprise: Now I need to get a new belt!

  13. It is amazing how different you feel from diet. I am a health food addict! I get totally out of sorts and can physically feel it when I eat junk. I get tired and my mood is less than stellar. I am 100% gluten free and have been for awhile and like 95% dairy free (meaning I normally don't eat dairy but will make an exception once in awhile. I also eat very little sugar. My rule is if is processed, don't eat it. I have thought about doing the paleo diet. Any advice?

Sounds like you're basically there, dive in and give it a shot. I've been doing paleo probably around 70/30 right now. There's no other way than to just give it a go and adjust your choices accordingly to fit within your lifestyle.

  14. I'm leaning towards irons simply on a cost basis. Looking at the Yankee Hill flip front (gas block) and rear. From a local guy here in MN who competes in 3 gun, he describes the stages as 90% of shots will be under 40 yrds, with 9.5% being at 100yds or less, and 0.5% being further our than that. That is true for USPSA 3 gun and IDPA DMG 3 gun.

Odds of me using this rifle in any major matches is probably slim, if I'm motivated to go compete in major matches I'll probably have a better rifle by then.
