Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thank you everybody for the input. I'll work on the mag and let you know how it goes after I get out to the range on Saturday.
  2. When you talk about a round going under the extractor do you mean slipping behind the extractor from the bottom of the slide up, or do you mean a front to rear motion - pushing past the extractor, the extractor moves out lets the round by and then snaps back over the lip? It's easy to slip a round behind the extractor - a bottom to top motion. Very difficult to push it past the extractor - front to back motion. Hope that makes sense. Just trying to figure out if I have an extractor problem too. Thanks!
  3. Okay - the tallest part of the feed lips (rear half of magazine) are about .4", just a tad narrower at the far rear. The lower feed lips (mid-magazine forward for 1/4 mag length) are .45" wide. So the tall lips are at least .01 wide. Are the lower lips also supposed to be .39? Anybody have a good technique for fixing this gap without running a high risk of ruining the mag? Thanks! Here's a link to pic of jam condition. My link
  4. This is the mag that came with the gun. Never been dropped. Gun does not function either on sand bag or with original springs. Same FTF jams every way.
  5. I have a Witness Elite Match in 10mm that never has functioned properly. For too long I have just let it sit on the shelf, not wanting to deal with it. I really like the gun, however - looks, ergonomics, and it is really accurate when on those rare occasions when it actually loads a round. Problem is FTF - the unfired rounds jam into the upper part of the barrel or slide, instead of going into the pipe. Have pics but can't post link because i'm a new member? Anyway, lots about Witness problems on the net, but the answers on what to do seem a bit unclear. I have a 20# wolf recoil spring, extra power firing pin spring and extra power mag spring in - but that's all I've done to solve the problem. I've lost my receipt so a trip to EAA is going to cost me. My guess is that this is a magazine problem, but I don't know. Any ideas on what I should try out to solve this feeding problem?
