  1. Cpa50h What mag release did your Xdm come with ? I have a stock 3.8 never had this problem. I also have a 5.25 from Canyon Creek Customs that has there extended mag release in it. But is only extended on the left side the right side is identical to being stock length maybe even a tad shorter.

  2. Yes give the handle a solid push on the up stroke. Primers should seat at around .003 below flush. If they are seated flush it is possible for the firing pin/ striker to seat it that remaining .003 and lose enough momentum that it will fail to ignite the primer. It will work fine if you strike it a second time because the primer is now full seated.

+1 Winchester have been the best primer i have used.

  3. I tumble all my pistol brass with the primers still in. I have thought about trying ss media but the cost of a new tumbler and the extra time involved I don't see it being worth it to me. Yes your brass is super shiny but what is the benifits to super shiny brass. Tumbling with corn cob will give you some pretty good looking brass.

  4. I pull them out occasionally, stretch them out.... then put them in the oven on 500 for about 30 min. Immediately drop them in ice water, dry, then spray with teflon or silicon. My tripps are hard to load 8 and seat after that and continue to run like a dog.

OR, you can buy new springs.

Interesting I have been running them for a year now. But it could be my softer steel load as well. I had a 1/2 pound of Unique powder that has been in my safe for 2years and some 200gr bullets that I do not like. So I paired the two together to get rid if them. Could not justify using good powder or good bullets to us them up so they would have sat forever. Thanks guy will try stretching them out to see if it helps. $8 a spring is not bad but when you multiply it by 7 it gets a little pricy.

  5. New to this, what's "SET BACK" I load 45acp and no issues Glock Sig or 1911.

Bullet set back can happen after only one chambering that is what is happening with my 1911. It changes the pressure and can cause inconsistency in your load. My OCD want the least amount possible so if the EGW udie will make it go away then thats what I will try. It should be here tomorrow I will try it out and let you now what i think. I use mixed brass from a indoor range so all different head stamps which can have different case thickness. My 9mm for my Xdm have zero set back so more than one thing can cause bullet set back but it seams to all come back to neck tension on the bullet.

  6. I already lube all my cases will never go back. I have tried a tighter crimp setting the set back was still present if not worse. I am going to be changing bullets and ordering a udie. I will let you know how it works out

  7. I am getting i little bullet set back when hand cycling here are my specs. I have been reloading for a little while and just bought my first chrono and trying to get my es and sd more in check so i have been looking over every thing. Hand cycling my setback is .0015 but when dropping the slide release it is .004 The gun is an STI Spartan. Is this acceptable or should there never be any bullet setback. Thanks

  8. The stock guide rod is not soild it is hollow in the middle I would guess it weights in at less then an 1oz. I can check later when I get home. If you all ready have a solid steel guide rod. Which it sounds like you do. I don't know that I would spend $80 for 1 more oz. I weight the stock guide rod when I get home.
