Welcome Chris! You are in the right state for lots of USPSA shooting. Come on up to the State Championship match in Frostproof 1/15-16 if only to meet folks.

I saw one in use at my range a couple of weeks ago. The owner was very happy with it and I put in my order with Labradar the next day for an anticipated April delivery. Can I justify it? Not really...but I can say the same thing about a lot of things.

MG 121 IFP over 7.5 gr WAC 1.168. 176pf. Works my comp wonderfully.

Shannon's Monster Match is one of my favorite matches of the year...of course it helps that Frostproof is only a 1.5 hr drive. Wife and I shot this match SS more than once which was a lot of reloads and a lot of fun - and of course you shoot in costume! We run Open these days, but still need to reload of course with 50 round stages.
In any event, it's a great match to shoot if you ever have the chance.

plus the RO can CLEARLY see the chamber is empty.
You mean the RO can see in the chamber when you do the flip? I hate seeing the flip. And when I do I don't even pretend to be looking at the chamber. I'm watching hands and muzzles looking for a sweep or 180. I always make the shooter go back to showing me an empty chamber after the sideshow is over.

A good friend is sending me a spare RTS2 and mount to test drive! Thank you very much Herb!
Hopefully it's a V3 build.

Mine was upgraded last month to the v3 board. I just put a new one on another open gun. WORKING great both of them.
Thanks go out to Derik Janowitz for fixing my wifes STI. I spent about 6 hours with him last week at his shop. He made sure I was happy b4 I left. Super gunsmith!
Now i have 2 .38 supers working, do I need a Major 9mm?
Comments please!
Gary - of course you need another major gun. Did you get a look at Rory or Shannon's new build from Derek at the IPSC Nats?

Happy to report that I am now several matches into the v3 RTS2s and they are both holding up. Still too soon to call them good to after having sent them back to CMore twice, but it's looking promising.

While playing with the new 550. I had a little mess of powder from the first hundred. Got the shop vac out, and discovered that you should remove your convertion plate pins first. Needless to say they were easy to retrieve from the shop vac.
LoL....I have done that myself.

Last year I went with a Kobalt 4-cf Cement Mixer from Lowes and I could not be happier.
1 bucket of sorted brass, 2 buckets media. I run it with a cover on - took it off for the video so you can see the action.
The Kobalt has an resin drum which is much quieter then a metal drum.

If a reload on the move will be needed, I would prefer to move from left to right (as a right hander) to eliminate the possibility of breaking 180 on the reload. If a reload is not a factor, then it does not matter which. I would decide on the walk-through which felt faster/more natural to me.

DAA belt, race master pouches, Manny Bragg magnetic holster.

I run Castrol Power RS 5w40 - because that's what I run in my motorcycle. If I don't have any of that laying around when it's time to fill the bottle, I usually have CLP or something else on hand. I have tried pretty much everything and personally don't think it makes a whole lot of difference.

Going from USPSA Single Stack to IPSC Classic.
- higher power factor required for Major
This - don't forget to chrono your rounds if you are shooting major.

I learned from my SS days to NEVER put a mag I used on the stage back on my belt until it has been topped off. I only had to learn that lesson once.

No problems so far with gen 3.

I am also new to reloading. After reading the forum and reloading on a friends 650 I ordered a Dillion 1050 from Brian (thank you!) which arrived last week and is still in boxes. I know, I know...don't buy a progressive as my first press. Well, I ordered a Lee single stage also so I can work up loads and problem solve. With the help of my friends, the forum, and reading, I felt comfortable starting with a 1050 as my first press. I am on pace for about 10000 rounds this year and my time is valuable so it made sense to me. After a few months I might look into a Mr. Bulletfeeder and Dillon RF100 for efficiency. I did take the advice of several members above and got Lee dies, extra pick up tubes, Dillon primer tray, Brian Enos digital scale, and some slide glide to keep it lubed up.
I think that's fine Doc, just take it slow and learn. I started on a 650 and moved to a 1050 within 6 months for the same reason...volume as both my wife and I shoot. Six months after that I motorized with the Forcht conversion and added a Mr. Bullet feeder and couldn't be happier with my set-up. Oh, and the RF-100...I don't think I loaded even 10 tubes before I decided that I didn't need to be doing that anymore...lol.

Shoot the pistol from a rest to see if the gun is shooting off target or if its enduced when you shoot it. If it shoots good from a rest (or when someone else tries it) but shoots off target when you shoot it, then the problem is you, not the gun or the sights. Figure out why you are shooting off target (grip, trigger control, etc) and correct the issue. adjusting the sights and continuing to shoot poorly won't help you in the long run.

Love the Redding Competition seater. I did not need to make any crimp changes when I switched over.
-
I run Montana Gold 121gr IFP and my last case of $350 delivered for 3800 @9.2 cents each. Which by the way is $15 less per case than last year.

I have two Les Baer's for SS. An Ultimate Master and a PII both have run very well for me.

There are two places we always stop at when we're out at USA.
Frostbite Cafe - 801 N Scenic Hwy, Frostproof, FL 33843
Jay Bees Restaurant - 8625 FL-60, Lake Wales, FL 33898

I can speak to the power as I run WAC. For primers, I run Winchester SPM.
